@SophieB100

Here's what I think (probably wrong) Jo knows that Carmichael is involved, so scared of her, hence all the 'no comments'. Carmichael is controlled by Osbourne. As was Thurwell.

Crap theory, probably.

That's mine too. We've seen this series that the straightforward answer to a cliffhanger is the most likely (the DNA, Ryan being the dead 'un).
ElizabethTudor · 25/04/2021 22:17

@Buggerthebotox

It has to link back to Osborne then. He promoted Carmichael, and Thur well has been offed to stop him talking. Bit what's the point in Osborne being the big baddie - we know he's bent already. Looks as though Rohan was chucked under the bus too as it was he who leaked the crime figures.
My gut is saying Osbourne. And he’s ‘bought’ Carmichael’s loyalty through promoting her etc etc... Hence her shutting down any references to him in the interview. But if it turns out to be Osbourne I will be disappointed, as it’s just too bloody obvious. So, what’s the twist?

And, as everyone else has said - WTF was the first 15 mins all about? Why on earth would Kate leg it off with the woman who just tried to lure her to her death. Really baffled by this.

minou123 · 25/04/2021 22:18

@AC12theletterofthelaw

So disappointed they killed Ryan off.
I am too.

He was a brilliant character and played brilliantly by the actor.
He's been in it since season 1 and when he was a wee boy.

I'm a bit gutted he's dead

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 25/04/2021 22:19

@mrsmacmc

Did folk clock Carmichael clicking her pen 4 times throughout the interview? 👀 🧐
Yes!

DieSchottin93 · 25/04/2021 22:19

Carmichael is such a smug, patronising bitch Angry

I'm sad we won't see any more of Ryan, I thought Gregory Piper played him brilliantly. Smile

unique1986 · 25/04/2021 22:20

Were Kate and Jo about to embark on an affair?
What was that about.

Zampa · 25/04/2021 22:20

I initially felt disappointed with tonight's episode but think it was set up to deliberately confuse so the unravelling of the plot next week had more impact.

However, I've no idea why Kate ran away with Jo ... Anyone got any theories?

Steve gave Chris (copper at the gun workshop) a "don't I know you from somewhere glance". Last time that happened was with Kate and Ryan so he's either dodge or it's a red herring!

Not buying Carmichael as bent. I just think she's a target driven bureaucrat who goes for the low hanging fruit rather than tackle the behemoth of OCG infiltration. Indicator was that she was happy to see Jo prosecuted for a death she didn't commit rather than go for the truth.

Bluntness100 · 25/04/2021 22:21

She doesn't want him to solve anything as that means he couid potentially remain in post.

That makes no sense, she’s leading it now ans sitting in on the interview, she’d be given the credit for solving it.

FawnDrench · 25/04/2021 22:21

I think they will unearth something or somebody significant when they dig up the floor of the gun-altering garage place.

PhillipPhillop · 25/04/2021 22:21

Ok so they put trackers on all the cars but how did they decide to zoom in on Steve's car? There could have been a dozen AC-12 cars out and about at that point. Anyway, a waste of time however you look at it.

Ellenthegenerous · 25/04/2021 22:22

I said right from the beginning that Chris reminded me of Dot.

PhillipPhillop · 25/04/2021 22:24

I also kept getting him muddled with Ryan in the first episode Hmm

Netaporter · 25/04/2021 22:24

100% I think Thurwell is not dead. Lots of Twitter chat that he was the policeman at the other end....plausible.

Carmichael is bent. Or maybe worried if Ted solves it all she won;t get heard of the new AC unit...Question is, did Jo think Osbourne or Thurwell was her Dad?

I really don’t think there is a S7 😢

PrincessScarlett · 25/04/2021 22:24

I think the whole point of Jo and Kate running off was because neither of them trust certain police officers so they could talk more freely. Once arrested they wouldn't be allowed to talk to one another. Granted, not much was given away talk wise but Jo was deliberately taking Kate to various locations so I think there was a message there somewhere.

YouKnobhead · 25/04/2021 22:24

@MotherOfGodWeeFella

Except *@PrincessScarlett* - bitch bent warder and her henchwoman turned round and went away when they clocked the CCTV was on outside Jo's cell.
Yes - and Steve said something about don't worry it's xxx with cctv. But given how dodgy the prison is, how long before she's off to a different cell.
colouringindoors · 25/04/2021 22:24

Osbourne is H with Carmichael an ambitious brown-nose.

poundoflard · 25/04/2021 22:25

Didnt anyone wonder why the armed Spanish police didn't switch the lights on when they saw the bodies rather than just use body cams?
Maybe Jimmy Nesbitt didnt pay his leccy bill?

EsmaCannonball · 25/04/2021 22:25

@mrsmacmc

H is the police sniffer dog we saw in the last episode. Dot Cottan's four taps really meant H has four legs. His name is Humphrey and he's bent for the biscuits.
GrandmasNightgown · 25/04/2021 22:26

Well, it's four Dots we're after

We know 3

Dot
Ryan
Jo

The abused, neglected and groomed children who ended up in the police to follow the bent agenda

Who is the fourth?

PrincessScarlett · 25/04/2021 22:26

It won't be particularly hard for a bent prison warden to temporarily take down the prison CCTV.

User135644 · 25/04/2021 22:26

Not buying Carmichael as bent. I just think she's a target driven bureaucrat

She's been carefully portrayed that way as a jobsworth, while also used a diversion that she's corrupt the way she shut down any questions about the police corruption.

A bit like how Buckells was carefully portrayed as an incompetent.

SophieB100 · 25/04/2021 22:26

So next week we will have:

Steve's race against the clock to solve it all before he's suspended by Occupational Health.
Jo getting horribly tortured/killed by the evil pair in prison.
Ted knowing that it all rests on him to solve it before he's forced into retirement.
I thank that Chris will try to take out Steve or Kate (I think) because they'll find something very incriminating when they dig up the floor.
I also hope the do a flashback to Ryan being shot and hopefully give us an idea about Kate's mad five minutes on the run. At one point I thought she was going to shoot herself...know, why would she look like that was an option...??

ByTheStarryNight · 25/04/2021 22:27

Has anyone mentioned the continuity announcer yet? Before the show he said "assume nothing, trust no-one, check everything". I watched the whole thing wondering if wee Steve was the 4th man Grin
Next week Ted will have invited the wise men and shepherds into his repertoire too.

mrsmacmc · 25/04/2021 22:27

@MotherOfGodWeeFella it was odd as it's normal behaviour to fidget but I felt there was significance as it was deliberately in the shot 🤔

Welshwabbit · 25/04/2021 22:27

I thought it made a weird kind of sense for Kate to run off with Jo. She knew AMM had turned up at AC12. She wanted to get answers out of Jo to understand wtf was going on. She knew she couldn't count on AC12 to do that if AMM was running the show. So she went rogue to try togetthe answers. Plus I think she genuinely liked Jo.
