Interesting theory Lemon and not one I'd thought of. I have to say I didn't expect Jo to rope Ryan in.

I'd assumed that he'd been told to go along to make sure that Jo did as she was supposed to.

But it did seem as if she'd set him up-either to kill or be killed.

Although getting rid of him would mean that she wasn't being watched day to day, it wouldn't stop her having to do what H/OCG want until they've decided that they've done with her would it?

I’ve loved LOD, though I’ve said I was very “meh” at season 5. Was relieved to get my mojo back with this season.

Over the last 2 weeks I’ve gone right back to the start. My memory is shocking, so it was good to remind myself of lots of characters and small pointers.

Season 5 was SO much better on the second viewing, I’ve kind of surprised myself by changing my mind on my “meh” verdict!

I agree with others that things can probably be tied up this season, meaning it could be the end. But my brain won’t let go of one of the rolling banners on the Gail news broadcast from the Easter egg hunt.

Something like “physicists hail new equation (Hx6)=?.xyz”

We’ve got 2 episodes to go. I’d like to think that the next episode will start focus on the result of the gun stand off and also shed light on the Jo situation one way or another.

The final episode will pull everything together re Gail’s murder and the reason for it. This will include a Ryan (having survived with gun injuries) giving some, but not all, info on the OCG. Which leads to the identity of the 4th “H”. But also leads into the possibility of 2 more (given the equation above).

I know I’m clutching at straws here - I just don’t want it to be the final season!

Kate phoned ex in one episode to tell ex she'd be calling round with a football shirt; later she told Jo she was due to have the son for the weekend.

Without wanting to shout about LoD being unrealistic, if Hunter Jr turns out to be active in the OCG and lurking around in the UK, you would wonder why he wouldn’t have been caught up in any investigation of Tommy Hunter’s associates. But then you might also think that about the Banks brothers.

And diddl she'd be the main suspect anyway with AC-12 having already interviewed her and their surveillance evidence.

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but I have just rewatched the 3 part documentary from a few years ago into the failings of the Stephen Lawrence case. The third episode digs deep into the corruption of the Met Police, and the top police officer who was ultimately convicted (amongst others) was named John Davidson.

I’m guessing this is another nod by GM to the real life case.

Yes, I believe so. They've never got the kingpin of the OCG because of his connections.

Sorry to be so late to the party - I was slowly working my way through the entire series again before starting on the new one and have only just come up to date. I would like to think this makes everything easier to follow, but I'm still finding it hard to remember who everyone is. Apologies if you've already discussed this, but I have a couple of questions about the new series: Who do you think is the woman in the photo in Jo Davidson house and does anyone else get the feeling there is someone in the house with her?

Lots of people have said she looks like John Corbett's mother. Yes, several people have thought there was someone else in the flat. I've thought it myself, but I'm not sure it isn't just the camera angles. With all the glass and reflective surfaces it might be how they've kept the camera out if shot.

Also not sure if this has already been mentioned, but DH (who also re-watched the entire series with me though he was in fact watching for the first time) thinks there's a huge clue in the fact that James Nesbitt is apparently in Spain. He remembers it being mentioned in series 5 when discussing the routing of the laptop through a VPN that it was believed to be routed through Spain.

Yep, we shouted at the TV when they mentioned Spain.

I’m also pondering Jos behaviour and motivations which still remain a mystery. We have to consider whether she (or others) might be out for revenge against the people who killed her father (their father or brother). That’s bent coppers, the OCG and maybe AC12.

I know that mirrors the Corbett story, but a lot of this storyline has done this already.
