Hope no one minds me starting a new thread as 4 was filled on one episode.

Ted has been the police so long that they won't necessarily have his DNA on file from him joining. He was arrested and interviewed last series so his DNA may be on the nominal database from then.

There's no evidence that he did anything more than send dirty texts- not even any photos (thank god) The acronyms are probably more for fantasy's sake so BJ Lips makes sense.

bettytaghetti · 16/04/2021 11:55

Is there any possibility that whoever is named as a partial DNA match is just a ruse to try and flush out Chloe?

TrunshonAndHelmet · 16/04/2021 12:26

Unhealthy overanalysis of the composition of every shot (as predictors of what’s coming) in series 6 leads me to these early conclusions:

Steve is going to be framed and die/be discredited/convicted? (look at how often his head is literally framed especially in Steph’s house).

There’s a bigger picture with Kate and Andrea Wise (usually seen with a window to the outside world behind them)

Ted framed/out of the door

Anyone spotted anything similar? Obviously we see Buckells through glass, partially obscured with the blinds and Jo too.

TrunshonAndHelmet · 16/04/2021 12:27

The whiteboard shots in Steph’s house are very interesting too.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 16/04/2021 12:47

Blimey @TrunshonAndHelmet - your analysis goes far beyond my "go to iPlayer and find the scene in question to replay the dialogue"!

GrandmasNightgown · 16/04/2021 12:52

I agree very much about Kate - we know very little of how she came to be an undercover operative ve, and she does seem very capable of compartmentalising her life. She does speak a bit of her past when seeking to strike up common ground with Gates in S1. I wonder if sone/all of that is going to be revealed as a relevant bigger picture from her past, rather than just a story to manuipuiate.

I think the partial match will be to Corbett, the significance being that Jo cannot be Jo, and the rest of this series will be sorting out who she is and what she is up to

And they will discover that Vella's death was a paid contact killing, and that series 7, if there is one, will be about who took out the contract and why.

Is it a bit extreme? 😂 I think it’s all as important as dialogue (probably more so otherwise it would just be a radio play) but not sure at all how best to interpret it. Steve was filmed going down in the lifts in e3 which is particularly ominous.

Why? No one on the team has any suspicions about her so far, and I’m pretty sure the police aren’t allowed to falsify DNA evidence to try and ensnare someone who hasn’t been seen to put a foot wrong. Confused

Do I detect a fella Film/Theatre Studies student? Smile

NoWordForFluffy · 16/04/2021 14:36

Can't beat a signifier and signified! 😂

I wish! What’s your take on this? Have you picked up anything interesting from any scenes?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/04/2021 15:12

@TracyBeakerSoYeah

This is my favourite 😂
Mine, too, now.
SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/04/2021 15:14

Is BJL not BJ lover?

For heaven's sake!

Stop trying to raise the tone. Grin

ForThePurposeOfTheTape · 16/04/2021 16:16

Do we know how many episodes this series is? I agree that Gail Vella's murderer might not be exposed until next season although Ryan scaring Jo last week made me wonder if he could be involved somehow.

Chloe was the first person in AC12 to read the report so I don't think it's a trap.

7 episodes! They are really treating us Grin
MotherOfGodWeeFella · 16/04/2021 16:46

I know. And the last one is of extended duration. I'm almost beside myself waitng for Sunday night. Thank god I've got a full programme of tedious chores events to occupy me once work is finished today.

I've lost track of what's been said but now thinking it must be someone leading from one of the AC units. They have been a quite a few bent AC officers: Dot, Jamie, the women in the last one who stabbed someone in the toilet, Hilton etc

BentBastard · 16/04/2021 18:14

My gut says Chloe isn't bent but who else was that "I haven't said anything have I Steve" for the benefit of? Can only be the solicitor if not Chloe.

GlassBoxSpectacular · 16/04/2021 18:16

Can only be the solicitor if not Chloe.

I’d bet Jimmy knows a few bendy solicitors - he was one himself, after all!

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 16/04/2021 18:18

Since I finished my s1-5 rewatch, I’m practically inhaling drama box sets in between new episodes of LOD.

Problem is LOD has ruined all other police characters for me. All these bloody renegades going round talking to witnesses and suspects casually. Not one of these coppers is following the letter of the law. The letter. 🤬

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 16/04/2021 19:01

@GlassBoxSpectacular - DP said to me that what Jimmy said to Steve was for the benefit of his OCG supplied solicitor who, if you remember, had prepared a statement from him for the police.

Ah yes, I forgot about the solicitor-prepared statement.
