Ted has been the police so long that they won't necessarily have his DNA on file from him joining. He was arrested and interviewed last series so his DNA may be on the nominal database from then.

Yes, it's exactly the sort of business that the OCG launders money through (and Jackie Laverty used to acquire for them).

In S1, Steve gives Lavs a speech about how this type of business (hairdresser, market stalls etc) are ideal for money launderers - I think it’s just a call back to that conversation, rather than it necessarily being the same business (that would be stupid, she’s miles away).

And I wonder - would it be the same OCG running in Liverpool? They’re usually more confined to a certain area aren’t they, and certainly that seems to have been the case so far.

Very subtle name change for this (can you remember it?) and delurking to say I have watched each episode of this series twice, each previous series three times, read every thread over the years and listened to every Obsessed and Shrine of Duty podcast and I still have no idea where it will go! So many weird and wonderful theories and am loving these threads and all the name changes!

Ooh I just thought of someone we know of but have never seen who could fit the bill - Andrew Laverty.

Remind me - did he die or did they divorce, I think divorce? I wonder if he was into the OCG or she only got involved after the divorce. He was a millionaire - how did he make his cash? Was the property business his or did she set it up with the settlement?

Certainly outlandish, but it’s someone who’s not visible enough for us to think of him, but mentioned enough for it to be acceptable.

His role in Laverty Holdings isn't clear - was he bent? What happened to him after the divorce? Did Jackie meet the OCG through him? Or did she know them anyhow?

Her birth surname is O'Connor, but I dint think that ties her in to anyone else (yet....)

Just floating in (geddit?) to point you in the direction on the most brilliant podcast Shrine of Duty. They've unpicked the TLAs on Buckells' contacts (BJL et al), and their excellent conclusion that Jed is having a laugh with us about the sheer volume of acronyms in the LOD world. At over 1hr long each episode is longer that the TV episodes, but they unpick every moment in forensic detail. Highly recommended.
