Ted has been the police so long that they won't necessarily have his DNA on file from him joining. He was arrested and interviewed last series so his DNA may be on the nominal database from then.

About the DNA - I had an answer about how they would figure out she assumed someone else's identity at some point in the past. Can't for the life of me remember what it was now.

Oh I know - it'll be to do with the relatives of whoever it is she has a familial match with. She'll have changed her name - or possibly had it changed for her as a child - and won't be aware of the connection herself. So if she's been brought up by, say, adoptive parents Davidson but was actually born Hunter (or whatever it is) or something along those lines.

So - in my (admittedly limited) LOD circles the prime candidate for Jo's DNA match is Tommy Hunter. So what does that mean exactly? He's been dead since series 2. The only reason I can think of why he's still relevant is that it suggests that Jo is either 1/ corrupt or 2/ corruptible.

We already know (or suspect) that. So what else is there - have I missed something really important.

My own money is on Terry but I have no rationale at all for that other than thinking Terry is also bent/ corruptible and that Jo, if related, is doing her best to cover for him.

Off-piste somewhat but did anyone see BBC's documentary on Bent Coppers last night? It was an interesting watch. So many vested interests in hiding corruption. Nice example of bent cop being sent, with a payoff, to Spain whilst investigating straight cop got nowhere.

I kind of think this is what LOD is all about. It's not really about straight cop/bent cop - it's the nuances in between. So areas of grey rather than black and white.

But it wouldn't make sense if she were unaware of the connection. It would make it a strange coincidence rather than a plot point.

If she's concealed her identity from the police, that becomes a twist. If her own identify has been concealed from her, why is she randomly involved with the OCG?

It had been mentioned @ImRealHonest - but I don't think anyone is going to plough through several thousand posts to check if someone else has had the same thought as you!

Yes, it's exactly the sort of business that the OCG launders money through (and Jackie Laverty used to acquire for them).

We don't know how Jackie Laverty got involved, or do we? I can't remember - though Gates said something about it originally being her DH Andrew. Can someone remind me: why did she murder her accountant, and why did the OCG want her dead?

How much do AC12 suspect about her being involved in the OCG? I struggle to infer stuff like this. Are they happy that Buckells was the dodgy one? And if they still think Jo is bent do they know why?

Jackie Lever killed her accountant because he found evidence of money laundering I think? And I suppose OCG wanted her dead after she turned herself in after Gates told her to so she was a liability? It was ages ago I watched it will have to re-watch!
