We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier. We are now on series 7.

Didn't Ian in series 1 learn Russian and end up getting a commission?

The lads are getting dressed up - presumably they are going to be waiters??

So Stacey Elf is in a house - is this their house then. The MIL has arrived for a visit - that will go down well.

Jacko is just completely gobby, isn't he eejit?

Me thinks the lads are going to rub the new SM up the wrong way. Can't get used to Peter Barlow and that other chap from Corrie in this. Actually, the red-haired one is in that drama in Canada with the Victorian detective - forgot the title.

Andy's mother turns up unannounced. The Elf looks totally surprised.

Ah yes, our squaddies are the welcoming committee at some posh army do or other. The new CSM and his wife have turned up. I should know his wife but her other roles she's been in are escaping me at the moment.

So, that went really well.

Another dog story - remember the one in OG?

This reminds me of the non-alcolholic booze and dodgy video scams from Germany.

The lads are going to buy a greyhound!

I am thinking of Throbber in OG rescuing that gorgeous dog which he thought was about to be put down.

I sense some tension between the SM's wife and Jacko's girlfriend.

Rhu, do you remember the photos we saw of Elvis with his arms round a dog (OG2 or OG3, can't think which), but those scenes must have been cut.

No eejit, I think magi commented ages ago that this series lost some of the attraction of previous series.

And that nasty guy who replaced Fingers talking of the dog being pork-pied.

They're going to make Andy try the dog food. Oh yuck!

I think it lost the magic when Paddy, Dave, Donna and Nancy left. They were at the heart of it.

OMG - Andy is eating the greyhound's food. I am nearly heaving just thinking about it.

Meanwhile, out on the parade ground, Chris introduces the new CSM. This is going to be awkward!

Now, I'm going to be fair to the lads - the SM is out of order. They were doing their job on that night.

These were gorgeous pics of Elvis. When they were released in advance, I spent so long expecting to see that dog and all we got was a baby goat.
