Our Girl Thread 59 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier. We are now on series 7.

Another exercise which has gone wrong. Rossi and Jacko get caught up in an explosion. I can't work out why the explosives are going off like this? Any ideas?

Saw one squaddie with white stripes on his helmet would that indicate the medic.

I guess Jacko will eat his words after Tony rescues him. This reminds me of that scene from 'A Bridge too Far' where the soldier carries the heavy capsule back to the lads and it contains berets.

ilove the solider setting the charges, got the coordinates the wrong way round, so they fired in the wrong place.

Great film that. The real fight wasn’t Allies v Germans but Brits v Yanks. Brits acted the Yanks off the screen.

I'm surprised they can discharge themselves from a military hospital.

Jacko and Tony will now be the best of friends. Jacko's wound dressing doesn't look very professional! We find out why Tony was transferred - he'd been sleeping with his sergeant's wife!

I think we can see the way this series is going to go - tensions all round as the Colonel rubs everyone up the wrong way, probably believing he's being hard on them to make them better soldiers. I sense that Jessica and he aren't going to be the best of friends, and will Jeremy ever, ever, every have a happy relationship which lasts?

Ah yes, our new and very delightful Lt Col and what would appear to be his sidekick.

Jeremy says that Jessica can go on the exercise - oh dear, can't imagine that will go down well. So Mark is getting a promotion. Who bets that won't last?

I thought Angie was going to Glasgow??

Mark Hobbs is to be made up to acting sergeant. Let's hope nothing goes wrong.
