Big Cook Little Cook brings out the latent pyschopath in me

Watching it this morning I found myself thinking that if Big Cook Ben went "oh..ho ho ho!" ONCE MORE, I would find him, and disembowel him with Little Cook Small's wooden spoon. I hate EVERYTHING about it: I hate LC's cheesy rictus of a grin; I hate it when LC says "Little Cook's Adventures in the Big Werrrld!"; I hate the mullets; I hate it when LC says is it time to play and BC says no.."time to wipe and put away!" (can LC not see a recurring pattern here - it's always "time to wipe and put away!"); I hate the puerile stories; I hate the stupid dancing; I hate the recipes (the Melon Smile they made this morning has put me off water melon for life).

I just HATE IT ALL!

Thankyou for listening.

Look on the bright side. It's not Barney. Or Clifford.

marthamoo · 28/10/2004 09:01

I need to get a life, don't I ?

I don't dislike it quite as much as you marthamoo, but I'm ashamed to say that I think that Little Cooks spoon, when he is riding it, looks rather phallic and makes me feel uncomfortable! Neither dd nor I have ever actually wanted to go away and make on of their recipes, either. Don't know why we bother.

alicatsg · 28/10/2004 09:06

oh god me too - there's something very very wrong and twisted about that programme IMO.

Bagpuss30 · 28/10/2004 09:17

LOL at disembowling BCB with LCS's spoon .

Although I have to say that at the moment Tikabilla (especially the new girl) has the same effect on me, and don't even get me started on Boogie Beebies.........

coppertop · 28/10/2004 09:20

Will someone PLEASE tell Little Cook to cover up the bum cleavage ? Ever since someone on here pointed it out my eyes feel strangely drawn to it and I HATE IT!!!!

themoneyshot · 28/10/2004 10:15

Big Cook, Little Cook are also a pair of very funny comedians who have appeared on ITV1 and other channels several times.

bundle · 28/10/2004 10:18

scuttles off to find big wooden spoon...

Twiglett · 28/10/2004 10:23

I hate the fact that the recipes are appalling and they patently can't cook

the only episode I've actually watched they made muffins .. fair enough muffins are great for kids to make and delicious with dried fruit in them like raisins / blueberries

but oh no .... they crushed up a stick of rock to put in the muffins

and the BBC is normally so patently PC too

linniewith2 · 28/10/2004 12:03

have you noticed how long it takes to get served in that place ...........they take 10 mins to decide what to cook then they fart about abit and bugger off to get some sheep yoguht or something then they bake a jacket spud in the oven ........not the microwave then they let it cool down then they mixed the sheep yohurt in and put it back in for another 20 mins.........Omg at that rate the person would of been waiting well over 2hrs for some food ....and a poxy little serving at that !!!!!
Thats why no one ever pays them........and just gives them wolly jumpers etc etc etc....

Ok rant over ...........lol

mykidsmum · 28/10/2004 12:10

Yeah I saw the stick of rock recipe too yuck, I hate the bit where they get really excited about tidying up.. that is just not normal, especially for men!!

pamina, have you seen the mushy peas one? looked revolting, but i think that's part of the joy of learning to cook

has anyone ever made any of the stuff .....I havn't

bundle · 28/10/2004 12:19

gosh, pamina, your BCLC knowledge far outshines mine

i missed the beginning of the pea thing and they only tantalise you when they open the hatch so you can't see who it is...will as dd1

on a positive note, the spinach soup has reignited her interest in green leafy vegetables...

themoneyshot · 28/10/2004 12:19

And what is wrong with the recipes they produce...apart from being totally diabetic unfriendly and are guaranteed to give a child dental decay...perhaps they are in league with false teeth manufacturers!!!

edam · 28/10/2004 12:19

I hate the theme tune - irritatingly catchy 'can't get it out of your head for ages' rubbish.
But it's not as bad as the ruddy Shiny Show...

The Shiny Show...Come on!

It's your turn to have a go
on the shiny show, the shiny show,
you can.. BANG!...

That's solved her problem!

bundle · 28/10/2004 12:23

give yourself a pat on the side, you tried, you tried, you tried

themoneyshot · 28/10/2004 12:31

Enough already! Who here feels children's television perpetuates negative social/gender stereotyping?

bonniej · 28/10/2004 12:39

I love the tune on boogie beebies when they're in the supermarket. I end up singing it for ages afterwards, you know the one,
'take it to the checkout, that's the plan,
take it to the checkout, get it scanned....

fantastic

themoneyshot · 28/10/2004 12:42

I prefer the Liverpool version, stick it straight in your pocket and run from the security man!

So, who is the most bonkable guy on CBB's
