It’s back!!! Now with extra added Alan Carr!!!

Starts tonight. I didn’t find the first series until well after it finished and binge watched it, enjoyed following the thread on here as I did so but I was way behind the time to contribute anything.

Looking forward to enjoying this series hopefully with some viper chatter as we go along. Come on in, all opinions welcome!

We need answers about the paint colour fuck up. Why couldn't they just return it and say they didn't give them the colour they asked for?

I thought the barber shop was poor. Strange clashing colours, awful fake cabinets. The foliage shop was better but as others have said, dust traps and probably too maximal for practicality.

Do the contestants know who the guest judge is before they start?

We need answers about the paint colour fuck up. Why couldn't they just return it and say they didn't give them the colour they asked for? Yes that was really wierd. It's been ages since I had paint mixed like that but don't they open the tin in store after it has been mixed to show you that you have the desired colour? And otherwise yes, wouldn't the sensible thing be to return it and get the correct colour? No idea why there was such a huge drama over that - twice!

unfortunateevents. Yes, they certainly do open the tin to show you before you pay and leave. There was definitely something not right about that. Added drama nonsense for the cameras?

I don’t know, I bought mixed paint recently - not random colour matched, but one of the standard Dulux colours but that they don’t keep ready made and you get mixed fresh in the Dulux shop - and the tin was presented to me sealed, I didn’t see the colour till I got it home. Thankfully it was the same as the tester

I thought the barber shop was terrible. I hated the stripes, the cheap looking ' drawer front' wallpaper. Awful.

A few years ago we had paint mixed at Homebase. Two tins. Although the machine was programmed identically, the two tins were very different colours and when we started painting it was obvious the colour wasn't what we were expecting from the tester we'd had. We took it back and were then told that if you buy more than one tin of mixed to order paint you're supposed to mix the two together before using it. Well no one had said anything about that so we got a refund.

I dislike Siobhan but I absolutely loved the blouse she had on at the beginning of the programme. .

So far my favourite is Micaela. I think she's really clever and creative and her ideas last night were spot on (apart from the daft non-storage cupboards). I liked her beach hut too.

I was very surprised Quiff Man didn't go last night - I think faux greenery is fine up to a point but staple-gunning some plastic bits to every surface in sight was too much. It would have worked better if it had been more restrained. Lit up cupboard was a lovely touch though.

For me it's going to be woman with straight blonde hair and Micaela in the final. I think Michelle will try to make a case for Siobhan though.

Great to see Abigail Ahern as a judge last night.

So both the Salon and the Barber still look (almost) exactly like they did in the programme. The flowers in the salon look really good and not quite so over the top as they did on the show.

The one thing I found a bit odd was when Paul and Linsey vistied Siobhan and Micaela. The two locations are a good 12 minute walk apart, and that is if you know the short cuts.

I think the non-storage cupboards were to stop them repeating Barbara's mistakes in the camera shop.

I thought the Salon looked better, it just looked better put together and a bit more organic (no pun intended). They also had the lights on, so I could see a bit more.

I am rewatching the episode- the barbers, why didn't they match the colour to the stripe colour? Then it would have looked more coherent. Where they were showing the striped wallpaper close up- that shade of red actually looked very close to what their "wrong" paint was. They should have just kept that paint. And it would have matched the sofa more. That burgundy just makes no sense!

I didn't understand the stripy wallpaper either; it needed to be part of a coherent scheme and it wasn't (IMHO). . The genius bit was Micaela's budget upgraded sofa . I just had the feeling that it was all about siobhan and her great ideas.

I think that the stripes were a nod to the barber candy bars, I think.

The striped wallpaper was a nod to the traditional barber's pole. I made the association without them mentioning it.

Yes the old Barbers' Pole which symbolised their other role as surgeons .

Many years ago of course.

Lots of barbers shops and barber related items still reference it though.
