It’s back!!! Now with extra added Alan Carr!!!

Starts tonight. I didn’t find the first series until well after it finished and binge watched it, enjoyed following the thread on here as I did so but I was way behind the time to contribute anything.

Looking forward to enjoying this series hopefully with some viper chatter as we go along. Come on in, all opinions welcome!

@Cattenberg

Maybe it’s the editing, but Siobhan seems very quick to throw her partner under the bus.
She has been doing that every week
Cocolapew · 09/03/2021 20:56

Ha! I knew she was going to say that.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 09/03/2021 20:56

I thought it was contrived!

TheSpottedZebra · 09/03/2021 20:57

It's not about learning, it's about mastery!

Interior Design MASTERS.

ooh, all through. Twisty.

Cattenberg · 09/03/2021 20:57

red stripes deep purples total mishmash

I feel the same about this and many of the other colour schemes.

cerealgamechanger · 09/03/2021 20:57

Michaela gets away with it again!

Cocolapew · 09/03/2021 20:59

I thought this was the semi final Blush

dillite · 09/03/2021 21:00

I did too @Cocolapew

WingingItSince1973 · 09/03/2021 21:01

So was putting them all through pre planned? Judging by their projects next week, it needed two pairs for it to work

Cocolapew · 09/03/2021 21:03

And they're in pairs again next week, whyyyyy?

Lavanderrose · 09/03/2021 21:12

Love michaela, her beach hut last week was definitely my favourite and this week she transformed the £1 sofa, barber chair, cupboards, metal dividers. Not sure what Siobhan actually achieved, the stripes totally crashed with the purple walls.

Furbylicious · 09/03/2021 21:41

I obviously have different taste to Michelle. I thought the barbers was awful, the wrong purple, clashing with the red, pale green and dark green. Then there were stripes in the barber pole walls, the fan shapes on the wallpaper, the herringbone floor, the arches on the mirrors, rhombus shapes on the sofa. I just didn't think it pulled together.

I loved the botanic one- although I agree it would be a pain for dust! I think AA was over fussy about the waiting area. It looked plenty comfy to me.

She must have already known she was putting them all through as they either have the rooms for three people to decorate next week or four people. I thought it was a bit mean to make them beg to stay!

Good to have some feedback from clients!

Arrierttyclock · 09/03/2021 22:15

I loved the botanical one I thought it was absolutely stunning. didn't like the barbers at all the colours were so strange!

LadyEloise · 10/03/2021 00:02

I thought they'll have to use the hairdryers to get the all the dust off the plants. Smile

ppeatfruit · 10/03/2021 08:18

The botanical one was weird with all the fake\plastic stuff hanging down, I thought that Paul was for the chop being as it was his idea, he thought so too! Bit of luck for him.

Maireas · 10/03/2021 08:32

I liked the botanical one as well, although I thought it was a bit overdone (shudders at the cleaning prospect). I'm not sure about the paired working, it must be harder to judge the individual?

icelollycraving · 10/03/2021 08:54

I much preferred the one with all the flowers. I thought the little lit up cupboard was as genius. I like Siobhan’s designs usually but I thought the barbers was absolutely awful. I think if that had been the other two, then someone would have gone. I generally don’t rate Michaela but her ideas were cleaner this week than Siobhan’s.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 10/03/2021 09:11

My actual hairdresser has décor very similar to the botanicals one and I love it there. Ideally you'd have more fresh flowers than plastic but I'm guessing budget kicks in! The barbers one had bits in the finish that I liked, but fundamentally the purple and red clashed too much for me.

Maerchentante · 10/03/2021 09:41

@dillite

Awww, their reaction was so cute!

Anyone near Richmond and is willing to investigate whether the salons are still the same?

I will catch up on the episode tonight and can walk past tomorrow morning when I'm in Richmond.
LadyEloise · 10/03/2021 09:43

The paired working is ridiculous at this stage in the competition. Once would be enough.
Imagine if they had that in Bake Off or the Sewing Bee Shock
It may be that with Covid restrictions they were unable to get 4 hairdresser/ barber shops in the same areaas as they had Covid travel restrictions ?

Mooserp · 10/03/2021 10:50

Maybe they could only get 2 restaurants for the next challenge so that's why they kept 4 people and are having them in pairs again.

LadyEloise · 10/03/2021 10:55

The working in pairs thing is daft.
Give them a room or a set in a studio or warehouse, give them a theme, an idea and see what they do. See their individual work, as we did with the brach huts.

unfortunateevents · 10/03/2021 10:57

So basically it seems that even if one person had performed appallingly this week they were always going to go through because they needed two pairs for the next challenge?

Dailyhandtowelwash · 10/03/2021 11:52

None of them were ever leaving this week. I did award Alan Carr 7 out of 10 for his acting skillz last night for his reaction.

LemonViolet · 10/03/2021 20:30

Just caught up with this week. I really liked both designs although agree with the fake greenery being a dust/hair trap and I was really doubtful on the barbers coming together until the final reveal. LOVED Alan’s face when Michelle said they were all staying!
Agree it’s all a bit pointless having them working in pairs. Even in the early stages they had zones of each group design, in the first week they had a room each. Ridiculous having them in pairs now.
