It’s back!!! Now with extra added Alan Carr!!!

Starts tonight. I didn’t find the first series until well after it finished and binge watched it, enjoyed following the thread on here as I did so but I was way behind the time to contribute anything.

Looking forward to enjoying this series hopefully with some viper chatter as we go along. Come on in, all opinions welcome!

Boring grey panels that looked like granny’s anaglypta and some boring mustard skip-find of a sofa... Just sayin’

I read her book recently and she recommends anaglypta in it!

My thoughts exaxtly. Smile

I scoffed slightly at first when they described the customer as the dog, and of course it's the dog's owner, but then I thought about how, when my kids were tiny, I would go to cafés that probably didn't have the best food or drink because they had laid on stuff for small children, so my whole experience was better. So I guess it's the same thing - owners might be more likely to shop somewhere they felt their pets were taken account of, and made it easier to browse.

Not ever having had a dog, I have no idea at all how often you'd go to a shop like that though, or how likely you'd be to meet other dog owners there rather than for a walk, say. So that may be an unhelpful comparison.

covetingthepreciousthings · 25/02/2021 12:36

@Walkingtheplank

I found the obsession with the dog's experience bizarre too. I cant imagine many people take a dog into a town centre to visit a pet shop (I've never taken a pet to a pet shop) - and surely a 'play date' would involve a large green space.
So, I've worked for many years in retail now, in two different towns, and I think people would be surprised at the amount of people who do indeed take their dogs shopping!

I've not worked in a pet shop, but can totally understand why they would want to cater for dogs as customers in a sense.

I would probably have scoffed less if they had just described it like that! But all the talk of journeys and experiences in relation to shopping is bad enough for people let alone pets. Probably a reason I am not a shop interior designer....
TheSpottedZebra · 25/02/2021 13:22

They did briefly touch on the fact that in this world of online shopping (and being small retailers who cant compete on price), it is all about experience.

ppeatfruit · 28/02/2021 12:46

I hate this treating dogs like effing toys\dolls,;"Giving the dogs an experience!" Indeed, maybe allow them to lift their legs and or crap on the floor adding a lovely pattern all over the shop!!!

I also hate the Pooch programme. Dogs need to be treated properly of course but they are DOGs.

Beach huts tonight!

covetingthepreciousthings · 01/03/2021 20:02

Think I've got ahead of myself... tomorrow not tonight!

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 01/03/2021 21:01

Gah! I was searching for it fruitlessly! Never mind. Something to look forward to tomorrow!

TheSpottedZebra · 02/03/2021 19:14

It's tonight! Beach huts!
I'm warming up my eyes (for all the rolling) right now.

Cocolapew · 02/03/2021 19:55

Looking forward to tonights, I think I'm right that they are doing it on their own now? The lovely Sophie is the guest judge.

jay55 · 02/03/2021 20:01

Evening.

I've a friend with an Essex beach hut. I'm very jealous.

covetingthepreciousthings · 02/03/2021 20:03

I'm back on the right day now! Looking forward to beach huts, really wish I lived close enough to the coast to be able to make use of one.

Cocolapew · 02/03/2021 20:04

Michelle came as a minion tonight

dillite · 02/03/2021 20:05

Evening!

Where did they find this many beach huts?

All you need is a spare £200k and one can be yours

Fuck me.

covetingthepreciousthings · 02/03/2021 20:10

Do people buy beach huts and own them? Or are they mostly rented?

Anyone else follow Chloeuberkid on Instagram? They have a lovely beach hut, not jealous at all... Sad

Halsall · 02/03/2021 20:13

Not sure about the ombré effect, tbh.

dillite · 02/03/2021 20:13

I know we shouldn't comment on people's appearance, but both Siobhan and Quiff Boy could do with a few make-up lessons. And colour matching lessons. Both look dirty, like they use mud for foundation.
