It’s back!!! Now with extra added Alan Carr!!!

Starts tonight. I didn’t find the first series until well after it finished and binge watched it, enjoyed following the thread on here as I did so but I was way behind the time to contribute anything.

Looking forward to enjoying this series hopefully with some viper chatter as we go along. Come on in, all opinions welcome!

coveting yes T Wells is a lovely place, esp the Pantiles. Though sadly that area, the 'posh' end, is being run down, lots of closed shops (even before Cov.) It's all restaurants.

I like Miceala she and quiff boy deserved to win.

They could have had an area to show customer's photos - tagging the shop online

That might work really well in some places. But round here you’d get loads of photos of people in pubs, some overexposed shots of the local church on a damp day and a few professional shots of weddings and people holding giant cheques.

I’m sorry that Barbara left, she was my favourite. After the first episode I was really intrigued to see what she’d do next. Although, I don’t understand why she got rid of the doggy table.

I thought Barbara was the most professional of them all too.

It's interesting that they took what Charlotte and Siobhan had planned into consideration when judging, as the time constraint really does limit ideas more than it really should I think, and usually unfairly. I did think the comment about 'just more storage' was fair though!

Siobhan hugely irritated me last night, and I think at the end Michelle was trying to call her on her passive-aggressiveness. She tried to undermine Charlotte most of the time. I was really hoping she'd get picked up on it.

I agree about Siobhan last night, it came across like she wanted to drop Charlotte in it.
She looked incredibly smug when they said they liked the window display.

I'm so unnecessarily upset by what Charlotte did to the wallpaper. It looked absolutely awful, why didn't Michelle say anything?? I couldn't understand it at all. I heard her say that the wp had deers on it and they're not a pet so they "had to go" but... But.... To just spray paint all the deer out? Wtf? It looks so shit! Yet no one mentioned it! Whyyy! Also, Audrey Hepburn had a pet deer, so they could have stayed. Either use the paper or don't! Don't just half arsed spray it with some shitty spray paint! I don't understand the thought process! Secondly, the wp on the other walls was really similar but different sized frames and colours so it just looked odd. You can't have two kinds of wallpaper that are basically the same thing but done differently! I just. I just can't. About any of the wallpaper in that shop. Choose one or the other!

God I love this show.

I also think Charlotte will win. She will be like Cassie last year.

Tbf, the spray paint on those deer portraits is 'on trend'. I imagine she was going for something like this effect

The cat wallpaper was chosen by Siobhan; & the black & white dog one was Charlotte. She said she'd wanted a different one but it was £400 per roll so obviously out of their price range.
Then it had deer on it & as deer aren't usually pets (Audrey Hepburn excluded) she decided to 'vandalise' it which I think worked as it was a bit quirky & playful which was the vibe they were going with. However, I think they would have carried it on on the cat side too for continuity.

Barbara is clearly very talented but if she can't successfully deliver her designs to time/budget/finish she will fail & deserved to leave. As her partner lyndsey pointed out; when she designs she makes sure she can do it all herself if necessary- Barbara didn't do that & relied too heavily on the trades to do everything.

Was gutted Barbara left!! I really don't like Charlotte she's so whiny and just stresses out so much! I like Paul and actually loved his roof idea 😂 the judge- can't remember her name seems abit meaner than she was in the last series!

I'm looking at Charlotte's blog now, and itching to spray out her grocer's apostrophes .

I thought Barbara was very self assured and had a professional attitude. I didn't warm to her but thought she would go the distance. She deserved to go further.
I think pairing is wrong. It's unfair.
I wouldn't be a fan of Charlotte.

@AndreaMarteau ahhhhhhhhhhhh okay. Not a fan of that look either to be honest, it just looks like portraits...that have been vandalised. But whatever. At least I get it a bit now, thanks!

@APurpleSquirrel yeah I think if they’d have done the same thing on the other wallpaper it might have made some more sense!

I agree with heavymetaldetector, Charlotte’s ‘edgy’ spray-vandalism just looked shit, drippy, and would be incomprehensible to the average pet-shop customer. Her justification about not wanting deer on it (eh?) was tiresome and took up a ridiculous amount of time which could have been better spent.

However, I also agree that Siobhan was expecting Charlotte’s downfall and pre-emptively distancing herself from any blame with obvious glee. Not attractive.

I'm obviously completely hopeless at this as I was convinced Charlotte was going to go as she'd not taken the customer's journey into account. Barbara had done that.

So I was surprised and sorry to see Barbara go. I really thought she had what it took to win tbh. Stupid programme.

I think though that they didn't feel Barbara had come to the right conclusions when she thought about her customer! Whereas they thought Charlotte was heading in the right direction (possibly - never saw any mention of her considering the needs of dogs).

I don't know if Charlotte is being misrepresented, but they can't show what doesn't exist. She doesn't do herself any favours, she knows she's being filmed. I agree with pp about Siobhan, she had a few digs about Barbara in the office episode.
I didn't really like any of the shops, especially the bizarre wallpaper, but I'm obviously way off trend.

It would have been nice to see the owners go into their shops and see their reactions to the new decor.

I hated the spray blobs Charlotte did on the wallpaper.

The camera shop was just too plain.

Is it just be who found the guest judge insufferable when he was banging on about the journey of the dog through the pet shop and the needs of the customer (meaning the dog not the owner). And do you take dogs on a playdate to a shop?

Stupid late night at work last night meant I missed it, just caught up now. I think I’m just tired but don’t have a lot to comment on it tbh, I didn’t like any of the designs!

A lot more interested in beach huts, may be steal-able ideas there.

I found the obsession with the dog's experience bizarre too. I cant imagine many people take a dog into a town centre to visit a pet shop (I've never taken a pet to a pet shop) - and surely a 'play date' would involve a large green space.
