It’s back!!! Now with extra added Alan Carr!!!

Starts tonight. I didn’t find the first series until well after it finished and binge watched it, enjoyed following the thread on here as I did so but I was way behind the time to contribute anything.

Looking forward to enjoying this series hopefully with some viper chatter as we go along. Come on in, all opinions welcome!

Was it this place? www.alexanderhotels.co.uk/alexander-house/about-us/history/

dillite · 16/02/2021 20:08

I love maximalism!

On a side note- there's some seriously splodgy fake tan going on tonight

dillite · 16/02/2021 20:09

That hotel looks fancy AF

dillite · 16/02/2021 20:09

From the outside.....

LemonViolet · 16/02/2021 20:10

Oh Charlotte has got Michelle’s notes on importance of the ceiling

Oh maybe not the link I posted.

dillite · 16/02/2021 20:12

That first room will be hideous. That paper 😱😱😱😱

Halsall · 16/02/2021 20:12

dillite Dh and I were just saying that the rooms look pretty tired and terrible. Doubtless that's why they were happy to let the contestants loose and then redid them afterwards, possibly?

TheSpottedZebra · 16/02/2021 20:13

Has Barbara lent the programme makers Barbara's 3d model (TM) ?

TheSpottedZebra · 16/02/2021 20:14

Siobhan is just a pinker Scarlett Moffet, isn't she?

LemonViolet · 16/02/2021 20:14

Oh looks like John is using that botanical/lemur print wallpaper that is everywhere. Not exactly exclusive when it’s one of the only loud affordable prints in B&Q.

Not sure I’m liking Peters idea of doing the walls in horizontal thirds, won’t it make the room feel shorter?

Do they have to pay for the wood etc out of their budget too?

dillite · 16/02/2021 20:15

It looks like that hotel hasn't had any guests since 1950's

Cocolapew · 16/02/2021 20:16

The rooms look like my bridal hotel room and Ive been married over 25 years

Halsall · 16/02/2021 20:16

A picket fence headboard? Hmmmmm

TheSpottedZebra · 16/02/2021 20:16

Yep. They get their week's budget and the brief, and they have to make their plans and buy all the stuff incl. wood etc.

But they dont talk to the decorators or carpenters until the day so they have to hope they buy enough/right type of wood.

LemonViolet · 16/02/2021 20:16

The rooms are massive. Have they still just got £1500 and 2 days?

OP posts:
dillite · 16/02/2021 20:16

That wooden fence headboard should be taller. Otherwise it will just look like a fence

LemonViolet · 16/02/2021 20:17

Haha luv AC in a fascinator

LemonViolet · 16/02/2021 20:19

OK I like Johns ceiling. I think his room has a lot of promise actually.

I feel all these rooms would be a real problem with a hangover.

GarethSouthgatesWaistcoat · 16/02/2021 20:20

I'm new to this programme tonight. I think the last time I watched an interior makeover programme other than Grand Designs was Changing Rooms Grin

Not fancying either of these designs although I normally enjoy unusual boutique hotel decor! Maybe the finished product will look better (worse?!)

I like the garden equivalent of this show, can't remember what it's called!
