Anyone else a bit disappointed tonight? I mean, the series haven't been brilliant - and I'm sick of Daleks - but this was just...meh. Too many Maguffins & Deus Ex Machina.

I realise filming was probably affected by CV19 but I felt a bit deflated by it.

I wish JW’s Doctor wouldn’t be so open-mouthed all the time.

I refuse to believe I'm the only Dr Who fan excited by this possibility for the future of the show.

I have watched since Tom Baker and have really tried since Chibnall took over but this is the only Doctor I haven’t consistently watched.

Someone up thread said it’s too childish and it really is. Surprising given the writer‘s pedigree but it doesn’t work for me as an adult fan anymore and it always did before, whether or not it was initially for kids.

It’s actually sad as a fan not to be bolting food down to watch live or even bothering to record it anymore.

MC would be a good choice. Still reliant on getting decent scripts though. Actually MC for the next couple of series then RA for the couple after that.

Yes and also Chewing Gum was awesome but that doesn't mean she'll be scriptwriter as well as main lead - I suppose they might let her direct one or tweak a script in read through but otherwise her writing talent won't have any bearing. Same as if they got Phoebe Waller Wotsit, they can only change so much of the script, the storylines/arcs are usually the showrunner's domain?
