Who will go through to finals week? Will we have to find new favourites? What will they do instead of the Wanky Restaurant Holiday? All will be revealed.

OP posts:

Right decision, like Victor but he wasn’t the same level. So wish Luke was still in with Jono out. Unfortunately probably would have been Luke v Dave

ilovesooty · 10/12/2020 21:59

Dave is lovely.

ApolloandDaphne · 10/12/2020 21:59

Go Philly! Only woman left. I hope she does well.

TheDogsMother · 10/12/2020 21:59

See you next week for a nail biter. Great company as always.

Sunbird24 · 10/12/2020 21:59

From the chefs that are in the final now, I don’t mind who wins as long as it’s not Jonno...

JazzyGeoff · 10/12/2020 21:59

Ahh never mind

Til next time all

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/12/2020 21:59

Poor Victor - he had a bad night, unfortunately.

No shame in going out at this standard.

Same here.

Which means that Jonno will walk it . . .

ilovesooty · 10/12/2020 22:00

See you on Tuesday folk.

Bagadverts · 10/12/2020 22:01

Till next week

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/12/2020 22:02

Au resevoir . . .

Grin
itssquidstella · 10/12/2020 22:09

Santos is my favourite! Can't stand Jono - arrogant tosser.

@Fgs1
Am I the only one who likes Greg and his unfailing enthusiasm?! blush
You are, though @ShirleyPhallus (when she's about) enjoys his legs.

Thanks for the @GrouchyKiwi, I am about but like 10 episodes behind and never remember when it’s on

Yes @fgs1, I’m a fan of Gregg, something rather charming about his oafishness. I stand by the fact he has good legs!

AvengingGerbil · 11/12/2020 07:26

If there was any point to Gregggg being a judge, it was surely that he represented the regular diner-out, not the professional cutting-edge. So he ought to be saying ok, it looks great and I like it, but if I saw mushroom tiramisu or beef with sea slug or yet another ‘take’ on offal (sweetbreads I’m looking at you), on a menu, there’s not a chance in hell that I would order it and risk my hard-earned cash. Instead, he’s just a a Monicus/Marica echo. (Except, I notice this week, when he’s alone with the guest chef, when he seems to be telling them what their own culture’s food should be like!)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 11/12/2020 08:41

(Except, I notice this week, when he’s alone with the guest chef, when he seems to be telling them what their own culture’s food should be like!)

I notice that he's becoming even more cocky and up himself, and trying to sound like he knows what he's talking about and that he seems to be viewed with a mixture of irritation, pity and contempt but M&M and the guest chefs, and just irritation and contempt by most of the competitors.

The more I see of this, the more I'm convinced that the missing chef disappeared because he did or said something to Gregggg. It may not even have been much - Gregggggggggg might have gone all outright Diva - "He goes or I do" - and they have to pay GutBucket anyway because of his contract, so the chef had to go.

Speculation, obviously, but I like the thought of someone telling it like it is.

MasterChef final is dream come true for Nepal’s Santosh Shah www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-55302025

Lovely article on Santosh on bbc site. He's become a celeb back home for making the finals. And is looking for a wife...

Sunbird24 · 15/12/2020 12:38

Well at least you’d be a well fed wife! Grin
I couldn’t marry a man just for the food though...

Halsall · 15/12/2020 13:30

Santosh was a hottie in 2008 Wink

Great article and my goodness, he really deserves success. He’s worked so hard and seems like a lovely chap.

I could!

When it's THAT food, I could!

(Thoughwhat's the odds that after a hard day in the kitchen he comes home and wants a toastie . . . )

jay55 · 15/12/2020 17:07

I'd want a chef husband to bring home the imperfects they couldn't send out.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 15/12/2020 20:22

jay, jay, jay

What are these "imperfects" of which you speak?

Have you seen the standard of Santosh's dinners?

Pebbledashery · 15/12/2020 20:43

Place marking as I missed last week.
Missed my masterchuffets! See you soon.

jay55 · 15/12/2020 20:55

Did the course go okay Pebbles? Hope you don't have a sore head from banging it on a desk/wall in frustration.

Sunbird24 · 15/12/2020 20:59

I’m going to have to catch up on iPlayer later as I’m watching real full monty on ice next!
