Taskmaster - best ever task

It has to be the tying yourself up task in series 7. Just a brilliantly evil task and Rhod Gilbert has the best solution.

Rosalind!

FreezerBird · 03/12/2020 20:29

🎶Rosalind's a fucking nightmare🎶

TheMadGardener · 03/12/2020 20:46

I did like Rosalind''s song.

I also enjoy the ones where they have a series of tasks and if you happen to open them in the right order, they're easy, and if in the wrong order, they're frustratingly impossible!
The one where they did an Eastenders style soap opera (Cul de Sac?) was great.

mynameiscalypso · 03/12/2020 20:48

I still laugh hysterically at the drawing a picture of a horse while riding a horse task

Facelikearustytractor · 03/12/2020 21:00

There are like loads I like, but for some reason the first one that comes to me is the one where they try to make a Swedish man blush.

milienhaus · 03/12/2020 21:04

Drawing horse while riding horse was excellent. I really enjoyed the silent cocktail making from a few weeks ago too.

ladygracie · 03/12/2020 21:09

I’ve just watched the Rhod Gilbert tie up one. That was brilliant!

FreezerBird · 03/12/2020 21:37

Thinking back, I think with the Rosalind one what made it so, so funny was that they showed Nish Kumar and Mark Watson's song first. It was genuinely lovely, very sweet and admiring of this interesting woman. Then you had Bob, Aisling and Sally having the dawning realisation of what was about to be shown when they'd made up this song basically slagging her off throughout.

It makes me laugh just remembering it.

TheSpottedZebra · 03/12/2020 21:42

Well it's not this bloody task

thecatsthecats · 04/12/2020 08:45

The humiliation task last series was excellent, partly because of how fast the young team did it badly, whilst Jo Brand and David Baddiel just sort of sauntered around making tea.

I go a bit hysterical watching Mel Giedroych and Hugh Dennis cooperating to fill the bath whilst the other team went mental chucking things in and out.

Thurlow · 04/12/2020 08:49

Rosalind's a fucking nightmare is absolute genius.

I love the series with Mel and Noel, so the exotic sandwich is pretty high up for me, especially Mel snorting M&M's up her nose. Hide and seek too, with Alex accidentally touching Mel's breasts and Lolly hiding for nearly half an hour.

Overall though it's got to be the impress the mayor task, if only for how physically uncomfortable Jon Richardson is the whole way through.

june2007 · 04/12/2020 08:55

Love SAlly,s watercooler moment. and the birthing of Alex scene. Enjoyiing the latest series but not the same memerable moments as of yet.

mynameiscalypso · 04/12/2020 09:35

I love all the Mel and Hugh tasks - the scandi noir trailer they made was brilliant

TFSRM · 04/12/2020 09:54

I'd forgotten about the impress the mayor task! I loved how Jo Wilkinson came back with loads of ice lollies and beer. And Katherine's rap was excellent.

The task that makes me feel sad is the one where Joe Wilkinson throws a potato straight into the golf hole and then Jon Richardson and Doc Brown vote to disqualify him Sad It was really petty of them.

That cracks me up every time! Grin

"Please let me have this. It's the best thing I've ever done" Grin

I'm adding the 900th vote for Rosalind, the mediocre cellist. She jumps quite far for a woman of her age, you know. Wink Grin

BigBadVoodooHat · 04/12/2020 10:02

Lolly hiding for nearly half an hour

In 'Ghosts', Kitty often talks about how 'great' she was at hide and seek and how she could stay hidden for aeons (because no one was actually looking for her) ~ I wonder if that was inspired by Taskmaster?

Avery7 · 04/12/2020 10:03

So many! One that I would have enjoyed doing is the one where they have to make a meal using things from every letter of the alphabet!

It's such a funny show - particularly Greg Davies' commentary after each clip.

Thurlow · 04/12/2020 10:40

The task the other week where they had to draw animals using straight lines and Daisy May Cooper went absolutely mental at Richard Herring for not guessing it - "I hate you even more than I hate my husband!" Grin

Callipos and beer was just a genius move
TheBumbleNums · 04/12/2020 10:53

There was a task where they had to write a folk song and Rhod Gilbert sang about a little match seller or something and the final line was ‘And she shot his shitting face off’.

DH and I died laughing and now it’s become a bit of an in-joke. Like if DDog is being a bit grumpy we will say ‘Watch out or he’ll bite your shitting face off’ Grin

Not really the ‘best task’ ever but certainly one we’ve remembered several series later.

We have in jokes too - when I put the rain cover over DS' pram, I refer to it as his polythene grief cave a la Dave Gorman in the sweating task.

I don't usually enjoy the end of the show tasks but the one where Jo Brand kept guessing horse or laminator was brilliant.

I’d forgotten about that - it was amazing! Shock
