Our Girl Thread 58 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Chris is planning to carry out an ambush and rescue Mark.

Meanwhile, back at base the news filters through about the Mayday. The colonel doesn't sound like he's putting the men first.

Sam throws him a dirty look - and not in a good way!

Sam isn't liking having to take a back seat. oooh, a bit of needle between 'Major Tim - posh but dim' and our dear jezzer.

Back at base camp, the Colonel explains the situation. He has very little concern for his troops, more bothered about the helicopter.

I'm guessing that towel won't be used in a good way

Mark sticks to the name rank and serial number routine....sounding a bit scared.

Jeremy has obviously guessed about Tim and Sam Sheridan but Tim gets his own back by hinting he knows about Jeremy and Sarah Eastwood!

I think Mark is about to be tortured. I might have to turn away.

No....definately not used in a good way.

How lucky, the only two brits on the island and they run into them.

Tim is distracted by Sam. He wants to make it up after their cross words.

Sad, plucky guitar music....

Must be hard for Tim to keep his feelings buried.

Sam must be pleased to be part of the action, albeit on the fringes.

The lads are on the march across what could easily be Salisbury Plain, but we will pretend it is the Deliverance Islands.

How very different from the home life of our own dear monarch.

Actually, that could be Dartmoor or Exmoor by the looks of it.

Do we reckon this bit was filmed on Salisbury Plain?

Mark is being interrogated/tortured for intelligence. He is holding out.

Hills, sheep, Wales - oh, and harp music.

I think this is supposed to look a bit like The Falklands. Meanwhile the lads are with the ex-pats. More sad, plucky music...

Chris McLeod and the lads find out about the atrocities being committed and how the brother of the two British farmers died.

The helpful brits are going to drive the lads to St James.

Oh, a semi-derelict council estate. Why do I think I’m not taking this too seriously?

Evidence of atrocities are being uncovered.

They're off to the capital (St James?) with the brothers who conveniently have a truck to travel in.
