Our Girl Thread 58 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Presume Angela didn't know Chris when he was over in Ireland?

I'm guessing they haven't been married that long?

Jeremy is taking the CO's daughter out for the evening.

Jeremy is looking cool. He is taking out Melanie the strident druid.

As we expected, Jeremy has made a move in the CO’s daughter.

Small talk over a drink in the pub. Wonder what is about to come out. Oh dear, he knows what she drinks without asking.

Meanwhile in a hostelry suitable for he over 70's, Jeremy has taken the strident druid on a date.

This is going well, Jeremy. Nice line in patter...not!

Chris and Angie arguing over how long they have been married.

Melanie doesn't really look Jeremy's type.

No wonder Angie looks rather suspicious. This won't end well.

Angie is staking her claim...get your mitts off my hubby.

.... and now for the grilling when Angie and Chris get home.

It's easy to forget just how dreadful it was in Belfast at the time.

At least Chris is being honest with Angie about what happened. Must make her feel uneasy. It's unfinished business.

Chris is so pleased to be put in charge of parachute training for the wives.

Jeremy and Sarah seem very friendly - accidental bumping there.

Chris is going to be the parachute instructor. He's definitely going to treat them all like raw squaddies. I have a feeling the WAGs aren't going to be happy with his approach.

A working red phone box! A while since we've seen one of those. Chris rings Aoife. Next thing we see is them drinking tea in a cafe.

I think Chris is well cast - I believe he could be an instructor.

The old telephone box - as rare as hen's teeth! Chris can't keep away.

I bet we can work out where Chris and Aoife are going.

Chris and Aoife's relationship did not go down well with her family. Sounds as if she was beaten up - there's a scar on her face.

Not quite Romeo and Juliet, but it is a sad tale.

Totally agree eejit. She's only here for one thing and that's to show Chris his baby!
