Our Girl Thread 58 "Our Girl and Soldier Soldier Revisited"

We have been following Our Girl since 2014 and although there are to be no further series, we revisit time and time again to discuss. As an alternative, we are also watching the 1990s series of Soldier Soldier.

Steve rushes to see Joe before he is taken to the police station. He also manages to knock the RMP sergeant to the ground as well!

Not a very uplifting episode!

Are we having a week off next week or carrying on? Given all our lockdown restrictions, I can't imagine I am going to have much else on, but will go with whatever the majority decision is.

At least Steve is used to the rain with all these exercises. And why can’t they have a happy ending in this series?

I should be good for next week. As you say, ilove what else is there to do right now? Yep, happy to watch along if that's the consensus.

I know it wasn't a happy ending but I still felt that episode had more quality than others we have seen lately. The paras were depicted as a really rum lot but it gave a nice depiction of Steve's qualities as a loyal friend. Poor Joe. Also Sam putting her Dad in his place was a bonus.

With all the rumours of yet another full lockdown in England to start on Boxing Day, I think carrying on with Soldier Soldier is a fairly good plan.

eejit, it's already been announced you are in lockdown from Boxing Day, hasn't it?

Indeed - but not that it will make much difference, really. Not been planning any wild parties, tbh!

Happy Christmas one and all. We have a bit of sunshine here in Hertfordshire at the moment so have just been sitting, well wrapped up, outside to have a coffee and mince pie with our son, our lovely daughter in law and our grandson who live next door. Social distanced of course but it was still a nice feeling.

Belated Merry Christmas ladies. Been a rather strange one this year.

Hope everyone is keeping virus free so far.

We’ve got snow - arrived overnight Sat/Sun and has now frozen. More expected tomorrow. Much better than the wind and rain we had for weeks. It may be cold, but at least the sky is blue and the sun is shining.

I was out and about today (whilst it's still allowed, not sure for how much longer!) and in a small town about 15 moles away. Lots of snow on the hills, very pretty, and thankfully the roads were all clear. At home, we've had hail and a bit of sleet but no snow.

Not sure where moles came from! Of course, I meant miles.

I'm ready, coffee in hand and a few almonds to nibble on.
