SCD - best dances ever

rollonoctober · 15/11/2020 16:42

I watched the first few series of SCD back in the day but haven't watched for years. But then this year I needed some lighthearted Saturday night tv so have been watching for the first time in about 10-12 years.

I'm really enjoying it and have been lurking on the threads on here too which are great. On those, there are loads of mentions of good dances from previous series that I've missed and, having watched a few, I'd really like to watch some more of the classics that I've missed.

So hit me with the best strictly dances from across all the series, would love to see some more of the good ones!

I think it was sheer surprise of seeing Ed and Katya come out to dance a salsa (and I was expecting it to be a bit rubbish tbh) and it being this wonderful Psy tribute with lifts that makes me remember it so well Smile

My favourite was the Halloween group dance on the result show from a few years ago. It involved the main dancer trying to keep the female dancer, and she being taken by the other dancers. Can’t remember which year.

Brilliant, I now have a list compiled and am ready to hit YouTube later while I'm sitting in the dark waiting for DC to go to sleep. Smile

I don't really watch, but I really liked Sophie Ellis Bextor's Charleston.
The Argentine Tango by Mark Ramprakash was stunning. I hope Karen Hardy left of her own accord because she was the best dancer that show has ever had.

Same! Dishranawaywiththespoon , I love the music they danced too as well

Agree Karen hardy was stunning.
Jay and Aliona’s jive is a standout, as well as Denise Van Outen (can’t remember her partner) doing the Charleston, although Denise obviously had a huge advantage to start with

Debbie and Giovanni's tango to I gotta feeling

Simon Webbe and Kristina's Argentine tango de Roxanne.

I've watched both of those routines literally hundreds of times.

DVO and James Jordan-was it the Walk like an Egyptian one? That was brilliant.

Mine’s a bit voyeuristic and not very nice but it was the Pasa Doble with Ben Cohen.
I love Supermassive Black Hole but then they came on and did this incredibly tense dance with lust coming out there eyes. I remember thinking “ blimey those two are really feeling it” and then the camera panned to his wife. You could see she had clocked it too and there was a definite “ moment” . But the dance was spectacular because of it.
It’s not the clunky one that’s on YouTube either. I wonder why.
Ben was an absolute bellend for doing that though . I felt so badly for his wife, after having to do all the fake family shit on Ben’s journey on bloody national TV.

I still feel cheated that we didn't get to see Sophie Ellis Bextor's Charleston again in the final.

I was in the audience when Alexandra Burke did Proud Mary - she was completely amazing and absolutely had star quality. She was sooo much better than Joe Mcfadden.
