Just seen Brian Conley on the lottery show and he's excrutiatingly unfunny. Is there anyone less funny than him?

Jim Bowen = Bullseye = classic TV!

UnquietDad · 06/10/2007 21:40

The Krankies are disturbing.

I can date the end of my childhood happiness to the point where Peter Glaze and Don MacLean were ousted in a Crackerjack coup and replaced overnight with a bunch of weirdos - the aforesaid duo, plus Stu "ooh, I could croooosh a greeeeeeep" Francis and some woman who has totally escaped my memory.

I mean... it's a MIDGET WOMAN, FFS, playing a schoolboy, and they are married.... uuugh!

Read on another forum once that a poster working backstage at a theatre where the Krankies were working claimed (coughcough*) to have barged into the Ks' dressing room to find Jeanette being spitroasted by two chaps while hubby (Ian) sat to one side and popped one over the thumb. She came up to said stage-hand later and said, with a wink, "You must think I'm awfully forward".

No! No!!!!

peggotty · 06/10/2007 21:41

Notnowbernard - terry wogan is a NATIONAL TREASURE - how dare you!!!

Actually he is quite funny, come on, admit it!

Richard Digance. His half-finished potato face and shit poetry gives me the creeps.

He had a forum on his website, but it was taken down because somebody complained they'd been to one of his shows and he was racist (and what he'd said was, imo, racist).

tiredemma · 06/10/2007 21:42

UQ - that is disturbing

notnowbernard · 06/10/2007 21:42

I can't bear him, sorry...

xxawwhugsHUNniKERMUNKERxx · 06/10/2007 21:42

Terry Wogan is NOT funny.

I remember when I was v little, watching Wogan - he said he'd had a letter from somebody who told him he should lean one shoulder toward the camera and do a sincere face to be a better host. He jokily did it. But then, somehow, that became his entire act.

xxawwhugsHUNniKERMUNKERxx · 06/10/2007 21:43

Oh, UD!

UnquietDad · 06/10/2007 21:43

Digance is soooo unfunny. Whenever he was on Countdown the audience always gave embarrassed titters at his "humour". Contrast with genius Richard Stilgoe who is genuinely witty and does great anagrams.

(What did RD say that was racist?)

Sheherazadethegoat · 06/10/2007 21:43

gordon brown

screamsprout · 06/10/2007 21:44

Blimey Unquietdad, the Krankies re disturbing enough as it is, without that sort of imagery!!

Stu Francis remains the most punchable man on tv. Even more so than Timmy Mallet who at least went to the trouble of getting a selection of hats and glasses together, whereas Stu Francis based his entire career on quite possibly the single most pathetic, weak catchphrase known to mankind.

LyraSilvertongue · 06/10/2007 21:44

OMG, the Krankies were worse than i thought.
I'd completely forgotten that 'I could crush a grape' thing. what was that about?

DrippingLizzie · 06/10/2007 21:45

Oooh I could rip a tissue
Oooh I could jump off a dolls house

Stu, you TWAT

Racers · 06/10/2007 21:45

UQ - disturbing and hilarious -- have never heard the phrase spitroasted must be sheltered...

screamsprout · 06/10/2007 21:45

Phil Cool. FFS.

screamsprout · 06/10/2007 21:45

Oh and Jasper Carrott of course.

peggotty · 06/10/2007 21:46

Oh ok then, but I quite like him on radio 2. Bloody hell, what's happened to me?

I CANNOT stand Faulty Towers (not strictly a person, obviously) which general consensus seems to declare to be hilarious and a 'classic' sitcom.

I don't find John Cleese funny at all - just shouty and annoying.

notnowbernard · 06/10/2007 21:48

Richard Madeley

screamsprout · 06/10/2007 21:48

I did hear Ben Elton, when working on that pile of tosswank Queen musical, actually refer to Bohemian Rhapsody as "Bo Rap".

FFS.

notnowbernard · 06/10/2007 21:50

If you're gonna talk Radio, I must include my Number 1 least funny, most inane, most thinks-he's-so-funny-but-my-God-could-He-get-ANY-WORSE 'jokester' Chris Moyles

tiredemma · 06/10/2007 21:51

When I was on holiday ( in tenerife of all places) as an 18, I walked into a bar one night amd the DJ shouted

"ladies and gentlemen- Jimmy Krankie has just entered the building" - ( there was about 200 people in there.

I am 4'11" and at the time styled myself on this woman
delores from cranberries

but was often mistaken, due to my stature- to this thing
krankie

Tutter · 06/10/2007 21:51

for one horrible moment i thoght this thread was entitled "is brian conley the last funny amn on tv...?"

BrassicMonkey · 06/10/2007 21:54

PMSL @ tiredemma

LyraSilvertongue · 06/10/2007 21:54

Surely there is no-one who thinks he's funny.
