Really liked Matt Lucas, feel like most of the constants lack a sense of humour though. Dave doesn't seem to be much fun!

Absolutely cracking up here, especially at the Freddie Mercury. Tonight reminded me of Chris Kamara's classic attempt to make a fondant version of himself.

They're always a bit dry on week 1, and no one gets a lot of screen time.

I like Matt too. And he has a great voice for the voiceover parts

So thanks to the 15 min delay to the start my series + failed to record the last 15 mins :( Now watching nearly all of it again just to see who won this week, and trying to avoid any spoilers (just clicked on this post and added message straight away without reading any posts).

So did I. Her upside down cakes were a total disaster, Loreia's were just a bit pale.

Really enjoyed that. I think the older woman (I can never remember anybody's name until nearly the end of the series ) redeemed herself by making a good cake inside the bust thing. From the sound of it, Loriea's cake nearly blew their heads off. She used Scotch bonnets. The one time I tried that in a jerk chicken recipe we could hardly eat it, wimps that we are when it comes to chilis.

I've just watched. So impressed so many of you know names!!

As soon as I saw the one with the hair I knew she wouldn't be liked on MN!! Do you think she might be the one Paul takes a shine to this year?

I was quite surprised at who went, thought it might be the older lady with the worst pineapple up-side-downs.

Not too sure about the baking ability of this year - a lot of dodgy baked! Though those busts had to be very difficult.

Think Peter is good - worthy star Baker.

I think Matt and Noel are better together than Matt and Sandi, whose playfulness felt quite forced, although I like them individually.

I thought that the ability wasn’t as good as I’ve remembered from previous years? I started the application for this series but chickened out, watching this today though made me realise I wouldn’t have been last!! Even 12 year old DD had a bit of intake of breath at some of the attempts. She was most critical of the ambulance appearance and to be fair to her she is a good little baker so probably would have done better herself!

Late to the party but I absolutely bloody loved that! It's lifted me so much, gone all warm and fuzzy. I even take back my earlier statement about Matt Lucas.

Contestants seem great this year. Lottie bit annoying, but everyone else spot on. Really good mix and I think some interesting characters. Peter was really sweet and deserved SB.

I'm hoping it's not just me or if it is I'm blaming lockdown but I was finding Paul Hollywood rather attractive tonight 😳 He's definitely lost weight and his hair looks so much better. I may have to name change after this.

I love the fact that unlike Noel & Sandi, Matt is right in there with his plate sampling everything.
