ppeat, thank you. I've watched Extra S in the past and quite like Jo B on it. Not liking the sound of Tom Allen from this thread! But yes, maybe I'll give it a go so at least I know what y'all are talking about

I know it's an act but I feel like he has to over-egg ( every joke and be an exaggerated version of himself. I saw him once in the Apprentice you're fired and he was so try-hard, and cringey I could barely watch. He is ok in 8 out of 10 cats do countdown because there is less scope for show-boating.

He does sound irritating!

I don't think he was. It appears to be a channel 4 thing.

I wish Extra slice would double or triple the time with the eliminated contestants.

Yes I agree jay55 I think it's the really embarrassing 'games' that the comics\guests have to play, I find most annoying (after TA of course). Jo seems peed off with them too.

Extra Slice is a terrible programme and is simply a vehicle for C4 comedians/presenters who need to be put somewhere to get a bit of tv face time. I like Jo Brand, she deserves better.

I only watch ES for the disastrous cake attempts viewers have submitted, they always make me laugh. The rest of it, especially Tom Allen is pretty awful.

Brownies, keeping with signatures that people might actually bake at home. Loving it.

I accept I’m an old fogey but I really used to enjoy the original GBBO with Mary, Sue and Mel but now I find the infantile humour and general dumbing down depressing. Why can’t they just concentrate on the baking without turning it into TV for 7 year olds?

I do think he needs to dial it down a bit this series. I like his sneery act but it's bordered on uncomfortable at points which I haven't enjoyed. He needs to be less insulting and more self-deprecating! - he found a better balance in previous series of ES.

I'm weird. I hate chocolate cake, brownies, double / triple chocolate cookies, chocolate mousse, chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate - anything like that. I only like chocolate as bars or maybe a ganache if not too much of it.
