The original and the best. If you like crime thrillers and/or scandi noir and you haven't seen it, then you are one lucky viewer!

If, like you've seen it and love, join me and Saga at 9!

Season 1, Episode 1

Looks like another Scandi Noir? Mystery Road?

On the plus side, it looks as though the Saga actor Sofia Helin is in it!

Not Scandinavia but and Aussie one, but she does play a Professor in it. I may watch, just to see what she's like in another role.

Does anybody else find the females massively irritating? Charlotte.....what was the point of her and the icy boss lady and the 2 sisters in series 2.
Quite like Pernille, although slightly drippy and the female cop.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 14/09/2020 17:35

ooh thanks for the tthread - I didn't know this was on iplayer.
I watched season one a few months ago on Prime (i am always years late with stuff) and loved it, so will give season 2 a go.

randomer · 14/09/2020 17:44

Sorry confused with my Scandies....Mette is a bit drippy. Pernille is cool. Think there was a Pernille in The Killing?

ageingdisgracefully · 14/09/2020 18:14

I don't take much notice of the characters - I have enough trouble getting my head around the storyGrin.

ageingdisgracefully · 14/09/2020 18:19

I also find that the female characters tend to look alike. I didn't realise Gertrud and Bodil's sister were actually different people (until the end).

They tend to interweave strands and I never know which strand is important, even more so when I miss a bit.

Was there a Munchausen strand involving Msrtin's children or did I imagine that?

Missingthesea · 14/09/2020 19:10

@aging disgracefully - yes, the nanny was making Nicolaj ill by putting blood pressure medication in his juice so that she could be the devoted carer the family couldn't manage without..

What a pity they're not putting Series 3 on atm. Hopefully not too long before it comes back.
I'd love to watch Borgen again as well. Who'd have ever thought a story about Danish politicians could be so gripping Grin

rosegoldwatcher · 14/09/2020 19:40

@Missingthesea - All three series of Borgen have just appeared on Netflix.
I read that they (Netflix) are producing a new, fourth series sometime next year.

Somehow I missed out on Borgen but have caught up in a matter of days. It is fabulous!

Katinski · 14/09/2020 19:57

Hurriedly, thanks for the link posted upthread. Just started it. So that's my evening sorted Grin

randomer · 14/09/2020 20:10

I like the older female cop ( Hunky's boss) with her weird scarf and earring thing going in!

ageingdisgracefully · 14/09/2020 20:33

Is that Lilian, @randomer? I like her too. Loved her short hair in S1.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 14/09/2020 20:35

rosegoldwatcher I'm watching Borgen on Netflix for the first time - just started season 2. Really enjoyable, mild crush on Philip despite his questionable behaviour.

rosegoldwatcher · 14/09/2020 21:16

@TheTurn0fTheScrew - yes, Philip is far more appealing than the character that the same actor played in The Killing (2) - Strange the renegade cop.

There are so many actors in Borgen who have been in subsequent series - Torben was in Killing 1, Katrine was in Greyzone, Kasper was Euron Greyjoy in GoT! and my favourite Soren (Lars Mikkelsen) played Troels Hartmann in the Killing, Johannes in Ride Upon the Storm and he was the psychotic media entrepreneur with his mind palace in Sherlock.

randomer · 15/09/2020 15:31

@ageingdisgracefully, Yes thats her. Nice look and icy, efficient but human too. The boss guy who had a much needed hair cut in series 2, I love his voice.

Hunky is a mystery to me. He's kinda full figured and bald and wears brown coats but there is something so damned attraactive about him. Oh and he's an unfaithful sleeze too .

Missingthesea · 16/09/2020 16:09

@rosegoldwatcher Unfortunately we don't have Netflix, only Freesat. Thanks for the heads up, though Smile

colouringindoors · 22/09/2020 21:14

I need Series 3 now!

So glad i found this thread! Desperately trying to find the bridge series with phillip from borgen in it. Big big crush on him

Balaur · 01/10/2020 06:53

It says series 3 is "coming soon" on iplayer Bridge Fans!

Balaur · 01/10/2020 06:55

10th October on bbc4 Smile

chrislilleyswig · 11/10/2020 01:36

Back on tonight

randomer · 11/10/2020 14:01

I'm not watching series 4. Rewatching the others, I am struck by how disturbing some of it is, how the writers dial up Saga's autism for effect and how the mysterious John in the dark glasses is underrated!

Series one and two the bond between Hunky and Saga was so well done. Henrick just didn't do it for me.

DustyMaiden · 11/10/2020 14:04

I’ve seen the tunnel, it seems exactly the same.

chrislilleyswig · 11/10/2020 16:02

The tunnel is a remake of the Bridge Dusty

ageingdisgracefully · 11/10/2020 22:15

@randomer: I've often wondered about the mysterious bespectacled John too.

Is Tunnel worth watching?
