@WitchesGlove

I can’t believe Olivia was £600 a month better off not working and living on benefits- I thought UC was supposed to ensure people were always better off in work Hmm
Oh wow I knew she was better off on UC but I didn't hear how much by I don't understand that

Rose did appear to have possible mental health issues.

CorianderLord · 17/08/2020 23:48

I've known people like Rose and they tend to have a lot of anxiety and possible depression. They want to want to work but they also can't understand that most people also don't love their job and that they have to force themselves to go in and just do it sometimes.

Very idealistic and find real life difficult. I felt quite sorry for her because clearly she just doesn't know how to push herself.

The young lad I didn't quite understand the housing situation. I've heard emergency hotels are horrible places.

Belledan1 · 18/08/2020 09:13

It might be because she does not have to pay travel and childcare out. Would get free dentists prescriptions etc.

WitchesGlove · 19/08/2020 12:37

Rose also said that she had never been better off- despite the fact that she had had lots of different jobs in the past.

I don’t understand- wouldn’t she only be entitled to £70 a week yet the minimum she could get from working would be about £300?!

purpleme12 · 19/08/2020 12:43

I don't know I don't understand it all either

Belledan1 · 19/08/2020 21:17

I was talking about this to my friend today who used to work cab. She said she would not pay any rent now and also get carers allowance. Also pay out less council tax. I still don't get it though how much more she is better off.

purpleme12 · 19/08/2020 21:28

I thought you got carers allowance whether you worked or not?

JustDanceAddict · 20/08/2020 07:29

I felt sorry for the young lad of 17. Only a year older than my DS. I hope he got the help he needed.

purpleme12 · 20/08/2020 07:30

It was very sad his case really. I just hope things work out for him

Belledan1 · 20/08/2020 08:25

I dont think you can earn over 128.0o a week to claim carers and she said she did 30 hours.

Beaniebeemer · 24/08/2020 21:35

Anyone watching this week?

Crapster · 24/08/2020 21:49

Yeah me...

Freddie and Emily, WTAF? "I feel so clever" Hmm And him saying he provides "round the clock care" when it appears to be her who does the cooking while he plays video games... Meh.

grafittiartist · 24/08/2020 21:49

Me - that poor girl- what's she going to do?

thefemaleJoshLyman · 24/08/2020 21:50

I'm not sure what to think of this week's so far. Very conflicted about Freddy and Emily. Is he really a full-time carer for her? We watched her cook him dinner while he was on a games console. Perhaps in the editing...

thefemaleJoshLyman · 24/08/2020 21:51

He seemed far too happy to get the benefits.

Beaniebeemer · 24/08/2020 21:55

I feel so sorry for Katrina. What an awfully stressful position to be in Sad I’m glad to see that she’s got a cleaning job. Freddie clearly doesn’t want to work!

JaneJeffer · 24/08/2020 21:59

Freddy and Emily split up!

I haven't seen this week's episode yet but have you seen that Olivia did carry on with her business idea? She has a website called akiladolls.co.uk (I am nothing to do with her at all, just think it's really good that she is doing something so worthwhile).

JaneJeffer · 24/08/2020 22:02

Good for her. Hope it's a success.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 25/08/2020 09:48

Wow, might be just the editting but Freddy really did seem work shy. He seemed over the moon that when Emily was found to be unable to work he could claim to be her carer and be exempt from looking for work. The biggest thing he seemed upset about her leaving was losing her extra esa money and having to look for a job. Might just be the editting of course!

purpleme12 · 27/08/2020 00:36

So Katerina working made all the difference to her passing the residency test... I don't get it?

purpleme12 · 27/08/2020 00:54

Also I just wondered how she got a new house?
Cos I thought she'd need a reference from the previous landlord and that person wouldn't have given her a good one if she'd not paid her rent
