I'm kind of sorry about Crissy, I actually think she's the real deal. She was in a Ken Loach film a few years back (well, quite a few years now) and won best actress at the Berlin Film Festival for her performance.

I can't stand the way the former finalists/winners talk about the food like they're actual chefs now..... they always sound so pretentious.
I wouldn't last 2 minutes choosing someone to go home, I always feel sorry for the ones who aren't the best cooks but are really trying and enjoying it so much and getting so much out of it! (Chrissy this week!) and that's obviously not the point of masterchef!

Totally agree about former contestants being arsy and pretentious. I much prefer those who bring good humour and a love of food.

We were saying this too. I mean I can't remember Les Dennis being that great tbh. I know he got through to the final but he wasn't exactly a shining star. Now of course he's miraculously qualified to sit in judgment.

Tbh I'd say Matthew Pinsent's doing significantly better even at this stage than Les D did in the whole competition.

Thanks for the new thread Fourqs I wasn't able to watch but was secure in the knowledge that my sky box was recording, well it made a right liar out me, we have had words believe me!!

So Matt and Riyadh got through then, would like to have seen what Matt cooked, glad neck tattoo is gone, I didn't like him at all.

Les Dennis..............completely forgettable until he pops up on MC.

Totally agree about the comments made by the former contestants. I'm sure some of them weren't that great but hearing them talk you'd think they were all Michelin starred chefs.

Maybe it's for effect and they are actually cringing when they hear it back...

Agree here too. And Les Dennis was awful. I feel my hackles rise when he is on screen. It was one long self pity fest when he did it and I had to share my Fuck Offs between him and Gregg, which pained me.

Completely agree with the high level of wankery from previous contestants. Especially Les Dennis who looks like he’s spent some serious time under the Salamander and spent most of the time commenting on “plates of food” as in “a good plate of food”.

Crissy’s accent is so thick it sounds like she’s permanently clearing her throat. I think she’s putting it on.

Riyadh’s pudding gave me flashbacks to the early stages of giving birth so I’d give that a swerve
