Hello All.

I hope it's bonza that I took the liberty of starting a second thread - just didn't want us gong walkabout in the bush (pardon my Fronch Grin) if we ran out of the other (whoops did it again!)

I’ve had to look ahead to see what happens. 🤓😳😳😳

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 01/08/2020 07:29

The series finishes on Wed or Thurs. We get treated to a catch up dinner party next week. I could be wrong but I think a certain runaway bride might be there.

KurriKawari · 01/08/2020 08:33

Yep Lauren is there. Which also means that Abandrew and Cheryl and all other tedious relationships will be back. No one needs to be subjected to Scarlet again. Though am looking forward to seeing is Debbie found her Polynesian.

lilgreen · 01/08/2020 08:50

@Cruddles that’s hilarious!

As for horseman Sean, I’m a qualified riding instructor and I say he looks completely unbalanced and inexperienced in all the clips they show of him riding!

Explains why you never see him going any faster than a gentle walk, if even a smart trot would unseat him.

Surely though - they couldn't have faked all they lovey-dovey stuff? I mean - they never had their tongues out of each other's throats.

Could it be that they were sexual dynamite, but realised that that was all they had in common (lucky buggers!)

Watching this series has really made me question my own marriage. Watching Andrew talk shit to Cheryl and seeing how thoughtful Sean and Simon are made me realise that me and my husband dont communicate effectively. Thankfully he isnt anything like AnThony though. Even though Cheryl was young I think she handled herself really well and came out the more dignified person.

Apple1971 · 01/08/2020 12:33

@SpanishFly

I'm so confused - I was more upset than either Sean or Susan 🥴 Why no sobbing from them? They've spent 8 weeks glued to each other, grinning and gushing and winching constantly. Why are they not distraught that it's over?
Yes I thought that too. I think there’s more to it (Ok I googled - I know there’s more to it 🤣)

I think they actually were just in lust - had lots of great cowboy sex and agreed to meet up occasionally to throw each other around to Dolly Parton songs.

I think maybe Susan did love him - but in what way I’m not sure.

Italiangreyhound · 01/08/2020 12:40

@tumpymummy That's a shame; what Are you planning to do about it?

I am very like Vanessa and my husband is very like Andy. We did have to learn to communicate because it didn't come naturally.

Pamalarrrr · 01/08/2020 12:59

@RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder

I think Susan has said no to take the pressure off them both. In the real world the ceremony doesn’t mean anything and I don’t believe for a second that they wouldn’t have discussed it together first. She wouldn’t spring that on him, that would be cruel (I’m looking at you Michelle). I think they’ll give it a go anyway but both be expecting it not to work out. Since she does fly in fly out work, it couldn’t hurt for her to move in with him for a couple of weeks to see if she could bear it without the cameras.

I’m too optimistic.

why does she fly in and out for work - I thought she was a truck driver at a mine Confused actually he said he was too?

Fly in fly out (FIFO) is very common in Australia (and Canada). The mines are often nowhere near the cities, so people fly in, do a fortnights work, fly home and have a week or 2 off, then fly back to work. Bit like North Sea oil rig workers.

Honeyroar · 01/08/2020 14:04

I think the mines are in the middle of nowhere so they fly there and spend a period of time there working. They should both work at the same mine and have a house together there, then both fly off to their families on their days off! That could work!

MissMarplesHandbag · 01/08/2020 14:14

I’m just catching up on the show. WTF just happened? Why did Nadia say yes and why did Susan say no. I’m discombobulated. They’d better fix the Sean and Susan thing on Monday’s episode.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 01/08/2020 14:46

Why did Nadia say yes

Because she wants her head examined!

Despite having a dream where her little dog got out of her garden and was then confronted by, and killed by, a black snake (its unblinking ophidian stare hypnotising it, no doubt . . . ) she was so in love with the idea of being with this "dominant alpha male" (the experts' description of Wanktony - not mine) that she couldn't see that she was the little dog, leaving her safe, protected home and delivering herself into the coils of Wanktony (his unblinking ophidian stare hypnotising her, no doubt . . .).

That poor girl is in for a rude awakening, but has brought everything on herself. Her sister hates him, I bet her friends hate him, her subconscious mind doesn't trust him, and I would think everyone, including the Universe, and her own brain, is telling her to be careful, and she is just sticking her fingers in her ears and singing "Lalalalala! I can't hear you."

why did Susan say no

Lifestyle is too different and she realised she'd find the isolation and being stuck in that hellhole with his mother too difficult to cope with and they'd end up miserable and at each other's throats. This way they can probably salvage a friendship, possibly "with benefits" as I believe the saying goes.

tumpymummy · 01/08/2020 15:40

@Italiangreyhound I've told him. I dont know if he'll take any notice. We've been together 30 years so I have no wish to split us up and go back out there. There are lots of parts of my life that are nice. I realise finding the perfect man forever is impossible. It's just shows like this that sell us the illusion of fairy tales.

Perfectly sums it up. I still feel a bit sad about Sean and Susan though.
RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 01/08/2020 16:06

Yup, I think Schadenfreude has nailed it. Stupid sensible people doing sensible things.

Tumpymummy, your post makes me sad. Communication can be worked on if you both want to. Relationships all work differently and there are so many variations on normal.

BurtonHouse · 01/08/2020 19:59

Susan is mature, emotionally not chronologically, and has enough self-knowledge not to fling herself into a situation that really would not suit her. She lives her life the way she wants to and won't twist herself into knots. Love is not always enough, as many of us here know.
She deserves to find it with someone whose life will dovetail with hers.
Nadia, on the other hand, needs a good therapist to help her learn some self respect and how to listen to her gut and not Mills& Boon.

AnneOfQueenSables · 01/08/2020 20:37

I've just caught up .. but may have missed parts because I have no recollection at all of Sean's mum. Was she an evil MIL? Was she kept in the attic like Mrs Bates? Confused

Giving them all luxury apartments away from their real lives is an odd choice isn't it? As a PP said it must make it feel like a holiday romance which makes it much more difficult to maintain once you go back to RL.
I have no idea why Nadia's face, body and subconscious are recoiling from AnTHony but her mouth and words are determined to stay with him. It's the oddest disconnect I've ever seen. It makes me want to watch lots of wedding videos to see if the bride and groom's body language reveals whether their relationship will last or not.

As the couples fall off, I've been googling them and can't wait till it's finished so we can discuss everything.

Destinysdaughter · 01/08/2020 20:55

I was in tears seeing Susan say goodbye, I was not expecting that! I've also googled what happens to them all and also look forward to discussing it on here ( but for now my lips are sealed...) Smile

Me too!!

I think what did it for Susan is arriving at his farm to see the pasta chucked on the lawn for the animals. That seemed to really bother her.

I also think I’ve missed something. Do Sean’s parents live with him? I also can’t work out what he actually does on his farm that takes all day? And why he needs to get up at 5.30 am to feed his horses? Chuck some hay out for them at night.

At times Anthony almost looked vulnerable - but then I remembered what a controlling unpleasant man he is and stopped feeling sorry for him!

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 02/08/2020 08:19

I have also googled and can't wait to be able to talk about it.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 02/08/2020 08:48

She was like Mrs Mainwaring in Dad's Army - you didn't see her, you were just made aware of her presence by Stuff That Happened - in this case, leftover dinner just being thrown out of the back door for the dogs to eat.

(BTW - did anyone else get the impression that it wasn't actually sean's farm, but his dad's? Just a feeling.)

(BTW - Pedant Alert: Attic = Mrs Rochester; Skeletonised Corpse on the Bed = Mrs Bates Grin)

Yeah, if Sean lives with his mum then that’s hugely off putting.

We are off camping this afternoon which means I’m going to have to binge watch everything on Thursday and not risk popping in after Monday night’s show for fear of spoilers 😩
