Does anyone else watch Four in a bed? I love it! Seem most of them along the years.

Well this weeks one ... bearing in mind I'm usually cooking, finishing work etc so got it on in the background really so half paying attention, ended really quite 😳😮

The chat bit clearly seemed to have broken into a fight and they didn't get back together to congratulate the winners ... any thoughts?

I used love this, but it started to get very vicious and i stopped watching a good while ago.

When it first started, people were pretty fair as regards the marking, but then you'd get people who ran a @00-a-night otel marking down somebody's £25-a-night B&B and underpaying them by ten quid because they didn't provide organic free-range Tamworth pork sausages with the breakfast and there were no complimentary shower products and similar. When you aren't comparing like with like, you have to be realistic in your expectations.

The week an old woman with a filthy house full of great danes (I think it was) made the wife of a couple who did an overnight lodge for walkers in the lake district burst into tears, was the last straw for me. The overnight place was lovely and clean - ok, it was basic, but so what - it was cheap and all the walkers wanted was a place to lay their weary heads. The breakfast had to be cooked by the guest but there was a huge range, and a massive amount of food - if you wanted a pound of sausages you could have had them.

The old bat only paid them about half of their fee (which was only abut £17) because she liked her breakfast cooked for her. Old cow!

One contestant that stands out from years ago was a woman who ran a B&B that featured donkeys - Happy Donkey Hill or something along those lines. She was awful.

I remember her - she was dreadful.

Didn't she deliberately mark everyone low and at the end they made her give fair marks otherwise she was going to be disqualified, she was that bad?

I have noticed that in the newer ones there always seems to be one couple who will mark really harshly and underpay everyone, but get really shitty when people pick up on problems in their b&b.
I was watching the ones from 2 weeks ago, and one couple had no hot water but instead of asking for it to be fixed they left a low score and underpaid. Why wouldn't you let the hosts know Confused

There seems to be an increasing tendency to include properties which are essentially self-catering, making it almost impossible to compare with bed and breakfast places or hotels. You invariably get people moaning about having to make their own breakfast, but in real life the person booking would see that it was self-catering and wouldn't book it if they wanted their breakfast cooked for them.

For all that I still find it compulsive viewing!

I've always wondered how you can claim to be a b and b if you dont offer breakfast.
You're welcome to come and sleep in my kids bedroom spare room for a night. I'll only charge you £50. Theres a lovely cafe at the end of the road.

I know, I got half way through an episode with a different Karen before I realised she wasn't snooty at all so couldn't be the same person!

Anyone else watched just about every episode of this going?! It's a rare treat that I can find one I haven't yet seen. I only watch the ones my TV records, as I need to zip through the ads especially the annoying sponsored Tilda rice one.

@Dieu

I don't think there can be many I've missed. Drives my DH mad when he catches me watching it, he can't stand it.

Dieu, I think I've seen most of them of them over the years, in the very beginning it was Three in a Bed, and I'm pretty sure a couple of people turned up later on Four in a bed.

Just after lockdown they were showing episodes from 2012 I think it was and it was like a trip down memory lane Grin

@Dieu - yes, me too! I found one batch the other day I'd not seen before, I watched it back to back at the weekend - love those rare treats!

@ellenanora5 - I didn't realise that some from three in a bed had done four in a bed. But I did notice one place, it was something like the 'Art House' it similar has also been on Hotel Inspector. Also the posh two people from Kent who quaff lots of gin and champers were on Gogglebox and four in a bed too - Steph and Dom I think they're called
