Just that really. I was looking forward to this yet it isnt up to scratch is it? I don't like the way the stylists sitting 'out back' giving their opinions.

I can’t stand that man.
I won’t be watching it, ever.

BlackCatsRule88 · 15/06/2020 14:28

Listening to an interview that Rylan did on his Radio 2 on Saturday with two of the stylists, he said it was filmed ages ago (last year sometime). I’m guessing that’s why they don’t say where stuff is from as it’s not current stock. It therefore makes even less sense that they don’t talk about dressing for shape, classics, getting things tailored etc. I watched about 15 mins and turned off.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 15/06/2020 15:18

I’ve downloaded it out of pure curiosity. I’m watching it now.

That plastic brown dress on the PE teacher was rotten. She is gorgeous and then he stuck her in that horrible thing. That white sleeveless dress is nice though but ruined by the shoe boots. She looked gorgeous at the end though. Quite corporate though, not sure how that fits into her life.

The guy in black. That Irish stylist is awful, ‘I have so much to do’ was the first thing he uttered when he met the guy. Way to beat down his already rock bottom confidence. What a twat. Plus his comments about the first woman’s muscular arms and sleeveless dresses. Dreadful. That white t shirt was appalling, it looked tonnes better with the shirt over it. As for the jacket, “what colour is this?”, “it’s suede”. Ffs Hmm, suede is a fabric not a colour you dimwit. As for his hammy overacting with Rylan, what a z list starfucker.

That jumpsuit was fucking awful. Dumpy and boxy. The dress was a bit on the formal side. The first outfit was dated but probably the best of a bad lot. I liked that orange coat. The BBC obviously got a job lot deal on pinky red stilettos.

The little power lifter is a bit more of a challenge. Those first skinny jeans look like they’d been taken up rather than being off the peg length. I like this stylist though. She’s got a really nice manner with her clients. The other ones were much less natural with their pairings. He was the only one where I liked all of the outfits on him. The blazer is a weird choice though. I agree that it looks like school uniform, a bad choice on a child-sized man.

It wasn’t great.

Pomegranatepompom · 17/06/2020 22:38

Just watched. The 1st lady looked ok in the outfits but I'm not sure how styled they were. She was very attractive so it would not have been difficult. The outfits for the 2nd lady were truly awful especially the jumpsuit. I though it was pretty lazy styling really. Was expecting more.
I liked Kat's dress, she obviously has style but maybe can just dress herself but not other people?

ChampooPapi · 18/06/2020 18:51

I made it ten minutes then switched off. What not to wear or ten years younger this is not! God I miss trinny and Susanna 😢😂

Pomegranatepompom · 18/06/2020 20:05

I really liked both programs that were around the same time, the one without T & S often had a psychologist who gave relationship advice. Can't remember what it was called!

woodhill · 18/06/2020 20:38

Mr Sparks in Noddy - that blue checked jacket

Wineloffa · 18/06/2020 20:56

I’m watching this now. The stylists are all so annoying and judging by what they’re all wearing I really don’t think they’re qualified to advise anyone on fashion!

BitOfFun · 18/06/2020 20:56

Their idea of a well-fitting T-shirt seems to be "Release The Moobs"!

woodhill · 18/06/2020 21:00

They haven't changed their own outfits from last weeks - low budget

WinterBerry7 · 18/06/2020 21:00

Watched it for the first time this evening. I’m not sure any of them can be described as stylists! ‘I want to stop wearing tracksuits all the time’ ok buy some other things then?! It’s not difficult?!
The blonde lady obviously felt very uncomfortable in that denim dress, she looked lovely in her outfits though.

Wineloffa · 18/06/2020 21:02

That checked suit was a travesty! I must admit the Paralympian looked good though.

‘Release the moobs’ made me laugh!

Yes the blonde lady looked lovely in her final outfit. Her hair and make up were great.
Pomegranatepompom · 18/06/2020 22:58

Agree, both ladies looked great. I wouldn't watch again though.

IsolaPribby · 19/06/2020 18:51

I watched both episodes today and have to agree with all of the above. And why put all the women in high heels, surely there are other footwear options than stilettos?

Sertchgi123 · 19/06/2020 19:27

@woodhill

Yes definitely Trinny.

Must admit the male dummies in various colours amused me.

It seems very cliched - prefer Gwok or Trinny and Susannah

I love Rylan. He seems a genuine nice guy. All the people asking for help have been lovely but the stylists are just not that good. It would be much better if they had only one or two people to help and they spent a but more time with them.
Kat looks lovely but then to dress the lovely lady in such boring clothes. Her final outfit was weary. I doubt Kat would wear it. Also the military wife, was lovely looking but again put in boring old fashioned clothes.
I was looking forward to this but it’s rubbish.

Londonborncatty · 19/06/2020 22:05

Must agree though, that stylist Lucie comes across really well. Really king and caring.

kennypppppppp · 20/06/2020 10:06

i can only bear it (i am sure the bbc would be very interested to know how i bear it) by fast forwarding most of it.

I've not been inspired by any of it and i think that the sofa that the stylists sit on is too small and they look squashed

Pomegranatepompom · 20/06/2020 14:40

I fast forwarded too - just to see the outfits !

feedingfrenzyatfive · 20/06/2020 21:19

I watched today and concur with PPs thoughts.

The Cumbria woman looked good in everything apart from the 'Audrey fforbes-Hamilton' style checked trousers and itchy rollneck.

The gangsta man looked bloody awful in that suit, so bad in fact that I had to rewind it and show it to DH. Was he a teacher?

That scuba/denim bodycon dress looked really uncomfortable on the military wife; the final jumpsuit was too fussy on the midriff and the pleather jacket looked plastic.

The Paralympian man looked great.

cockneygirl · 25/06/2020 22:27

It’s been made with very low production values.

Imagine the tv company getting around a table and asking what format can we rehash, update and make it much cheaper?

Instead of Trinny and Susannah original show that concentrated on one person, chat to them in depth and find out about their psyche, go through their wardrobes at home, show them what they should be wearing and taking them shopping and then the final reveal , that’s a lot of filming and research - lets now fast forward and the subject is briefed to admit their appearance neuroses with rylan in less than a minute and 4 stylists can appear to make snap decisions on what they would do. Get through 4 people in a 60 minute show - shot in one studio in a very short space of time. And select fashion stylists who need publicity and won’t cost too much. Bingo. Cheap television for 2020. Also we’re all a bit more media aware now.

How we dress is very closely linked to how we feel about ourselves. That never changes.

I guess if you see something you like and would suit you then you know what to look for. In reality if you don’t know how to dress you need to be spoon fed so not telling us where the dress/top/jean came from is a mistake. But if it was recorded ages ago the ranges have all moved on since then.

woodhill · 25/06/2020 22:29

The women never get put in skirts.

The stylists wear the same thing so must have been filmed for hours on end

MrsDrudge · 25/06/2020 22:36

Awful tonight. The older military man looked better but the rest looked worse. And that awful black faux leather dress (too small and tight) with cow print boots - cheap and nasty. I actually don’t mind Rylan, he does poke fun at himself. Couldn’t stand Gok handling women’s breasts and telling them to “get their bangers out”. Yuck

80sMum · 25/06/2020 22:46

I watched the first programme of the series. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn't. I thought it was absolutely dire. "Junk TV" if ever there was. .
