Just that really. I was looking forward to this yet it isnt up to scratch is it? I don't like the way the stylists sitting 'out back' giving their opinions.

I just didn’t understand it at all. Nothing to do with the stylists who I liked - I love Kat Farmer and have been following her for years. I didn’t understand the format. Put people in outfits. Rylan makes some jokes. Pretend there is some competition. Wtf

Bertucci · 11/06/2020 22:14

It was a very dull show and far, far too long. I had to skip through much of it.

That poor woman dressed by Kat/Cat (?) She made her look dumpy and lumpen. And the jumpsuit was just mean.

I won't watch it again.

Deathraystare · 12/06/2020 11:35

Aw that's a shame. I missed it as at work. Perhaps I will give it a miss!

tattiehat · 12/06/2020 14:36

Too many stylists for my liking, 2 stylists would be enough and no need for a presenter, Rylan adds nothing to it, disappointed in this, was so looking forward to it

woodhill · 12/06/2020 16:05

No in depth explanation.

T&S were so much better even though bootleg trousers were always recommended

teta · 12/06/2020 17:37

Did anyone else feel sorry for the man with moobs who was put in a very tight white tshirt. The very worst thing for him.
It all came over as being very second rate although I liked Kat. She was the best of them all.

Raella50 · 12/06/2020 17:45

I was so disappointed with it! I just kept thinking “great, more fast fashion” throughout to be honest as it was all such throwaway stuff. I’d like to see more about dressing for shape, style, investing, sourcing fairly traded items, buying for durability and buying pieces to wear over many years. I’d like to be inspired to branch out to ethically traded products and perhaps shown how to develop my style over time? I don’t want to see a mass of cheap crap that anyone can find for a fiver on the high street.

Embarrassingly I just realised this is called You are what you wear, I thought it was What not to wear that had been brought back.
Still shit though!!

Canalhouse · 12/06/2020 18:57

I thought it was awful. Literally just finding 4 outfits for 4 people. The first woman would have looked gorgeous in anything, the first man was put in a skin type white t shirt which was totally unflattering for his shape. They then had to put shirts over it to make it look better. Hardly expert level. Second mans jeans made him look totally unbalanced and accentuated his well developed upper body while giving him little chicken legs. He needed straight jeans or trousers to even his proportions up. The second woman’s outfits were all frumpy, unimaginative and unflattering. I’m no trend setter but I swear I could have done better. The format was clunky and Rylan who I like, was irritating. So disappointing. I was looking forward to it. Trinny and Susannahs original was actually helpful and did better in helping people flatter their body shapes. I won’t be watching the next one.

Canalhouse · 12/06/2020 18:58

Skin tight not skin type!

Standrewsschool · 12/06/2020 21:50

I feel sorry for the second woman. She probably went on that show to update her look and get a confidence boost, and her stylist let her down.

Standrewsschool · 12/06/2020 21:51

And I agree the white T-shirt was wrong, but I did like the jackets and the finished outfits. Made him look younger.

famousforwrongreason · 12/06/2020 22:57

Is this the new rylan show or something different?
Which channel? Had wondered what happened to does my bum look blog, stopped following years ago as it became such unattainable fashion for me and also moved into more sustainable ways of clothing myself Grin

Custardcreamies101 · 13/06/2020 02:50

What channel is this on, I used to love watching what not to wear!

Canalhouse · 13/06/2020 13:07

It’s on BBC1 custard. I used to love What Not To Wear too. But this is nowhere near as good.

Custardcreamies101 · 13/06/2020 15:28

Thanks Smile

augustusglupe · 13/06/2020 20:32

I didn’t watch it. Well I did see a few minutes, it was woker than woke. I can’t stand Kat Farmer anyway (doesmybumlook40 on insta)
I never missed it when Trinny and Susannah did it. I’ve got every single book they did. Why couldn’t they bring them back? I like Rylan, but not on this.

feedingfrenzyatfive · 14/06/2020 14:44

Manny looked like he'd stolen a private school pupil's blazer.

Canalhouse · 14/06/2020 23:32

feedingfrenzy. I thought Manny looked like he was on his way back after being sent home from school for turning up in jeans instead of his school grey trousers. Poor guy says he ends up buying most of his clothes in kids departments and ends up being rigged out in what looks like schoolwear.

Chienloup · 15/06/2020 00:53

It was a bit underwhelming, but I love Lucie Clifford, so I'll watch next week.

Iamthewombat · 15/06/2020 01:06

It was rubbish!

Why do the BBC think viewers and listeners like Rylan Clark? If I want to hear fuckwits wittering I can watch ITV daytime and Channel 5.

What’s with the stylists deciding which victim they want to have a go at and the huggy big reveal of stylist to the poor sod being styled? It’s like that excruciating bit on Strictly where they pair the slebs with the professionals. What is the point? Who cares?

Trinny and Susannah were miles better. Bring them back!

Ginfordinner · 15/06/2020 01:30

I much preferred Trinny and Susannah. Watching them gave me the confidence to wear a style I would never have considered before.

Wallabyone · 15/06/2020 10:24

I recorded this and watched last night-I was so disappointed! I thought it might be a bit like Trinny and Susannah mixed with Gok Wan, but it was neither. The stylists and Rylan were nice enough but the concept was so dull. No ideas to steal, no clue where the outfits were from, it was just crap!

woodhill · 15/06/2020 13:41

Yes one of the private schools in the area wears that blazer.

Plus his legs looked shorter in those outfits
