I'd add All 4, Walter Presents, to your repertoire. It has lots of good, mostly European, series. The Swingers, Before We Die, Thicker Than Water, Vanished By the Lake, The Blood Pact are some I've watched over the years. Subtitles, but that's just a one-inch tall barrier, to coin a phrase.

I was about to suggest Once Upon A Time on Netflix but someone has beaten me to it. Grin

Another suggestion - I just binged The Big Flower Flight. Basically Bake Off but for florists. Not my normal scene but I really enjoyed it!

Did you watch Shetland recently, and if so, on what channel or service? Because I've discovered I can access all or most of Vera - based on Ann Cleeves' other best known series of novels - but Virgin Media doesn't always tell me everything that is available between Netflix, Prime and the various channels own services that I have inclusive access to in my subscription.

I'm short of money and I really don't want to subscribe to anything else if I'm not going to get to watching it and am not making best use of Netflix and Prime - my son uses the Netflix as well and I'm probably not going to cut back on those totally. Also because I'm skint I don't want to pay extra to rent things, particularly as I might not get round to watching them.

WhentheDealGoesDown · 17/07/2020 17:06

Stateless is good on Netflix, just watching it now

BinkyBoinky · 22/07/2020 00:58

Watching Cursed. Wasn't into it at first, but now I can't stop. It's not perfect but I like the dark magicy stuff.

It's OK if you like this kind of thing, like Witcher/fantasy etc.

maisiemoolou · 25/07/2020 10:08

Spotless on Netflix is brilliant. We've nearly finished it. First 10 minutes I thought it wouldn't be much good, but stick with it. Its a comedy drama.

TabbyP · 26/07/2020 10:33

This is us on Prime. Wonderful family saga. Funny, moving and life affirming
Two comedies - both laugh out loud funny
Catastrophe
Motherland - nerflix

My family have been watching what we did in the shadows which looks hilarious (it’s by the guy who did JoJo Rabbit)

BrowncoatWaffles · 19/08/2020 07:58

Upload on Amazon Prime is amazing - it seems like fluff and it is mostly light and fluffy (it's about life after death so starts similar in tone to The Good Place) but it has a quite dark/thought provoking undertone.

The characters are really nicely drawn too and stay the right side of cliche!

TheClitterati · 19/08/2020 08:20

This Is Us - on Prime

leafeater · 19/08/2020 08:24

Bonus Family on Netflix
Unorthodox

OLGADEEPOLGA · 20/08/2020 15:50

Schitts Creek is ace!

OLGADEEPOLGA · 20/08/2020 15:50

Sorry just seen you've seen it

AltheaThoon · 20/08/2020 19:12

The Big C is great on Prime. It was on TV a while ago. Definitely worth a watch in my opinion.

fairydustandpixies · 20/08/2020 19:38

I'm addicted to bigfoot documentaries on Prime. I've no idea why but I'm watching them every day! Please avoid watching those, they're addictive!
