October - she became a witch so she became a lesbian, very cliche and quite silly.

marthamoo - totally agree with you, and am also an obsessive fan. I watch a lot of crap movies to 'support' the buffy/angle actors. i mean how bad have some of SMG movies been? Seth green has done really well though! And David b turned up in a dido video!

georgina - no have never managed to get into alias, although i have heard it is brill

Is anyone into charmed?

forgot about valentine, i thought it was pretty good and he was the best thing in it. I wish they would give him some romantic comedy leads, i think he would be good. has he got any projects for the future?

marthamoo · 13/10/2004 22:44

I think Joss W has a bit of a lesbian thing. Did any of you watch Firefly (absolutely brilliant and on a par with Buffy and Angel - so of course they cancelled it in The States after one series )? Quite a bit of girl on girl action in that too.

Yingers, glad it's not just me. I watched a dire slasher/horror movie film once purely because it had DB in it - "Valentine."

I thought Oz was cute too - he's in ScoobyDoo2 with SMG.

Oh I miss it soooooo much...my Friday nights will never be the same.

X posted!

yingers - actually no, there were hints she was a lesbian very early on. Remember evil Willow and good Willow's comments on her? "Actually, I think I'm kinda gay".

Joss is quite good at subtle foreshadowing if you look closely enough

yingers74 · 13/10/2004 22:49

with regards to valetine, looking back it was pretty dire but I was totally obsessed with angel so basically it could have been him walking round and round a white room reciting the alphabet and I would have enjoyed it!!!!!!

never saw firefly properly just the first episode, just remember thinking wow all these people have been in buffy/angel!!!!!

I miss it too although my dh has got me into stargate, it is not the same as I am not as 'involved' but it keeps me going!!!!!!!!

yingers74 · 13/10/2004 22:51

Georgina - yes you are right, I do remember that.

Willow showed lesbian tendencies in the one where she became a vampire, at the end she said she could never be one and Angel started to say "well actually, your true personality . . . oh never mind" or words to that effect - I don't watch it much so can't be sure

Oz was ace at Halloween "what have you come as?" "I'm God"

Riley was dire.

libb · 13/10/2004 22:57

Georgina, you know the episode I mean I see . . .

GeorginaA · 13/10/2004 22:58

grin

I was wondering when you were going to scroll back...

I hate you all, now I have to watch all my Buffy DVDs from the beginning again...

... or maybe I'll just watch Once More With Feeling and sing all the lines at the top of my voice with ds1 yelling "Mummy... DON'T SING!"

libb · 13/10/2004 23:02

Oh blimey, you do that too - when the house is empty I have been known to do some primal screaming along to that

I only have series 6 - exDH kept all the box sets of Buffy and Angel when we parted and DP bought that particular one for some strange reason . . . would it be cheeky to ask exDH for them back do you think?

GeorginaA · 13/10/2004 23:03

Not at all... DEMAND them back! It's your right!

libb · 13/10/2004 23:05

He bought them for me - under a very thin guise that they were actually for him too. I am missing my maternity leave re-runs of Buffy on Sky . . .

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 23:14

OOh spooky re Riley and the 'billowing coat king of pain' quote. I had a really strange urge to watch 'Superstar' last week and ended up watching the whole of season 4 over the space of 2 days. No housework was done, and my spike/angel/xander fetish was restarted.....

MI - must email you, but I still have those angel tapes to give you and the last episode of the season was last night!

marthamoo · 13/10/2004 23:16

Oh I LOVE Once More With Feeling - we play the CD in the car and both kids sing along too. Ds2 likes Anya's rock "bunnies" interlude best.

Though ds1 singing "his penis caught diseases from a Shumash tribe" nearly made dh crash the car he was laughing so much.

marthamoo · 13/10/2004 23:18

Well, as there is nothing on TV atm I think I may start at the beginning with Season 1 of Buffy (funny how an immortal vampire has aged so much since then...he was so so sooooo gorgeous in the early days).

libb · 13/10/2004 23:19

I made my DS watch them - DP says I am corrupting him but I say his flipping football does more harm - all those girls tripping over on blades of grass . . .

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 23:27

Watching Buffy is educational - DS1 and 2 both know exactly how to dispatch vampires and ghoulies if necessary. I think it's my duty to start watching it again for DDs benefit, 11 months isn't too young to learn to be a kickass girlie is it?

libb · 13/10/2004 23:33

I hope not - DS is 5 months . . . but I don't expect him to be girlie with his kickassing - just have quippy attitude

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 23:39

Good male role models from Buffy?

Xander - runs away and screams like a girl

Spike/Angel - dead

Oz - sheds on the sofa

Riley - on drugs

Giles?

libb · 13/10/2004 23:47

Fair enough - but how about?

Xander - decent and loyal friend

Spike/Angel - strong and spirited

Oz - dry humour and a modest genius

Riley - umm, oo, err, umm - handy for DIY?

Giles - intelligent and he has butt face

lydialemon · 13/10/2004 23:56

Butt face? BUTT FACE?

Right that's it - stakes at dawn methinks. Or in fact stakes in Dawn would be more useful

No, they're all lovely really.

I have a real urge to watch a couple of episodes now, but I swore I would get an early (?) night after staying up 'til late last night watching Angel.

libb · 14/10/2004 00:01

I know what you mean about Dawn! get a grip!

Butt face was when Buffy said " uh oh, you have butt face" and he looked witheringly at her and then she said "I mean you have that 'yes, BUT . . ' face"

I am very silly because I always find that funny every time . . . I need to go to bed, shall see you for a staking whiny whingy Dawn in the morning!
