Gangs of London, anyone?

Ive just started it but its so bloody violent it makes The Sopranos look like Disney? The story is good but I dont know if I can stomach it.

I haven’t seen Top Boy but Gangs of London is by far the most violent thing I have ever seen on TV. Much much more so than Peaky Blinders, the Soprano’s, Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad (which I thought were all extremely violent at different times)

@ThunderR0ad78 I’ve only seen the first episode so far but yes it’s waaay more violent than Top Boy. I don’t even remember Top Boy being especially violent to be honest. They are nothing like each other and not comparable.

Just finished the first episode and just couldn't get into it. Yes very violent but so much so it kind of washed over me. I seemed a bit silly and cliched. Maybe I just don't get it but I was expecting something grittier.

The posh accent is awful. It's so contrived and I think the main character is miscast.
The accent doesn't need to be really cockney to show he's a Londoner but should have a bit of a London twang to it.
Otherwise I think it is really good.

I struggled to find the London gangs connection. Apart from a few high rise building shots it could have been set and filmed anywhere.

And no I wasn’t looking for Danny Dyer cropping up but a more London feel would have been good, and I’m in the NW

I’ve just finished episode 3. It’s certainly entertaining but it’s all so implausible and clumsy. The attack on the traveller gang was gratuitous and utterly pointless and just would never happen. I found myself switching off a bit after that.
