Have been trying to watch the JCS with Tim Minchin on The Show Must Go On YouTube channel, but can’t see the full video.
Has anybody managed to watch it?
Thanks in advance.

Would like Evita, Starlight Express and Sound of Music?

Pinkflipflop85 · 19/04/2020 12:45

Not sure if starlight was ever recorded. Nothing will ever bear watching it live with the 'trains' racing past.

Northumberlandlass · 20/04/2020 21:09

Not sure you’ve seen....this week is Love Never Dies.
I’ve never seen it!

dementedma · 20/04/2020 21:13

Tim Minchin version was good, but film version is better. Ted Neely as JC is just the best.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 20/04/2020 21:29

JCS is available for a few quiz on amazon to rent.

Northumberlandlass · 21/04/2020 08:07

Have you seen the staged version of Les Mis with Alfie Boe & Michael Ball is available for download?
£9.99 (£5 going to various charities)

Phantom was excellent as always!
Very excited for love never dies have been waiting for it to come up north for years

Flummingbird · 21/04/2020 08:12

I'm excited for Love Never Dies. I love phantom but have never seen this one. I'll be ready and waiting on Friday night!!

MrsRedFly · 22/04/2020 16:03

Phantom is in Sky Arts on Sat 25/4 Sat on if anyone missed it!

OpthalmosVerde · 25/04/2020 08:06

Just found this thread and thought I’d check in to join you fellow MT geeks Grin

JCS was brilliant, I just happened across it but it was fab. Tim Minchin was very good. Apt for Easter weekend!

I saw Love Never Dies twice in the west end, on a discount ticket scheme when I was living in zone 2 and could pop down whenever on a whim , they changed it quite significantly, I wonder which version this is. Ramin Karimloo was hands down the best thing about that show.

2Rebecca · 25/04/2020 11:04

It was the Australian version which I saw on a love streaming at the cinema event a few years ago. I loved it then and now and was very tearful at the end

terrigrey · 25/04/2020 15:51

.

Noodlenosefraggle · 25/04/2020 16:27

I didnt like the story of this although the music, acting and staging were great. It was like bad fanfiction!

scaryreading · 25/04/2020 17:38

Is it still available. Does it stop at 7 even if you are in the middle of watching it.

scaryreading · 25/04/2020 19:22

It's not bad. Gustav is great.

Flummingbird · 25/04/2020 20:55

I've tried tonight but I just couldn't get in to it. Gutted as I adore Phantom and really wanted to see this!

scaryreading · 25/04/2020 21:21

I really enjoyed it in the end

Flummingbird · 26/04/2020 10:32

I've tried again this morning and enjoying it much more. Must have been in the wrong mood yesterday!

Any bets on next week's treat?? Bound to be cats at some point, I would really love to see Starlight though...

scaryreading · 26/04/2020 12:24

I thought they were only on for 24 hours?

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/04/2020 21:05

Most are to be on for 48 hours, but Phantom had licensing issues and could only be on for 24 apparently.

PorpentiaScamander · 26/04/2020 21:14

@mogloveseggs apparently the Australian company are touring with Love Never Die and were due to come to the UK in Sept. Manchester and Leicester I think. Other than that I dont think it's still on in the uk. Of course this could all change but worth keeping an eye on.

I loved the staging of Love Never Dies, but the story was weak. I agree with whoever said its like bad fan fiction.

This week it’s the concert they had to celebrate ALW when he turned 50.
Has songs from all his shows. .Good performers, Elaine Paige, Sarah brightman, Michael ball, Glenn close etc.

Bonus of Antonio Banderas doing Che from Evita, plus singing as the phantom ! So sexy.

8misskitty8 · 30/04/2020 01:08

Oh and someone mentioned starlight express. That’s in the concert too.

OpthalmosVerde · 01/05/2020 19:45

Anyone watching? EP’s Evita following Antonio Banderas’ Che just gave me proper goosebumps

Starlight Express now!

fairyfingers · 01/05/2020 21:21

We watched. A bit underwhelmed by a few performances- I love Antonio Bandaras but not as a singer.

I didn't like Michael Ball doing Gethsemane much, not enough emotions for me - it usually gets the hairs on my arms standing on end but it felt too neat. Also thought a bit too much whistle down the wind.

My favourite was Glenn Close by a long way and I always love a bit of Elaine doing memories.

Hoping for Cats or Evita next week
