She’s honestly an absolute saint in every way in the world.
She is a blessing

Elderflower14 · 18/04/2020 21:12

I like this. Proper old fashioned edge of your seat entertainment...

Damnit, I was just about to get the unicycle collection out the garage until they warned me.

Soubriquet · 18/04/2020 21:14

Well...he’s definitely from Florida.

LaneBoy · 18/04/2020 21:14

Piggy :o

When he got on the biggest unicycle my savage 10yo said “hope he doesn’t fall on the others or they’ll be Ant and Dead BlushHmm

Crinkle77 · 18/04/2020 21:15

My heart was in my mouth there and he seemed like such a lovely lad.

Soubriquet · 18/04/2020 21:15

Ant and Dead...your ds is awesome!! Grin

I loved Beth Porch, such a beautiful song and even more poignant at this time. I'm loving BGT right now for all the feel good-ness as I think I need it right now. Watching with my DCs and we're all enjoying it!

GrandTheftWalrus · 18/04/2020 22:07

I'm watching it behind as dd insisted on watching fecking paw patrol till she went to bed.

The Essex girl was utter shite. The singer on after is good but the song kinda reminds me of one from a dodgy b movie.

Sertchgi123 · 19/04/2020 07:53

I fell asleep on the sofa when the nurse was singing! I felt everything was a bit average tonight. I liked the piano guy but golden buzzer? I don’t think so.

yatapina · 19/04/2020 08:12

I think ITV said they were cutting back on the genuinely bad auditions as part of the fallout from the whole be kind movement due to the suicides of a few reality stars associated with the channel.

As entertaining as it was I guess we were laughing at rather than with people. There will be semi-talented acts who don't get through that will still be shown and the odd few will probably just want the air time regardless of how bad it goes 🤣

yatapina · 19/04/2020 08:39

Anyway... I didn't realise it was back until Saturday so watched 1 & 2 back to back. So fed up with choirs, singers and juddery street dancers but I do like a magic act!

Week 1: Nothing really stood out for me, the signing choir were good BUT I hate what that song stands for.

They're not brave or inspirational, they're living their lives just like everyone else and displaying the talent (signing to music is bloody hard) they've learnt not their disabilities!

Magic Man was meh. Simon and Eric was always a safe bet and the kid in the audience with the other back stage was just a pull.

Quite impressed by the well trained daschies - that's no easy task 🤣

Week 2: Yakob, cute and good at jumping about but not my thing. Also worried about the emotional impact this will have on him, confidence building should not be done in front of millions of people!

DD loved the mini bees and I liked the mini magician.

The piano guy was alright and I'd like to see more from him, the whole "doing it for my family" thing doesn't really do it for me. I want comedy and entertainment - not your life story. I wouldn't have given him the golden buzzer based on that but I did like the idea.

I like the dangerous ones, not really sure they're entertaining but i like to be on the edge of my seat rather than being emotionally blackmailed.

The nurse was meh and for the reason above I really didn't like her song choice. I'm assuming she usually sings happier and more uplifting stuff on wards so why the need to pull at heart strings I don't really know. Didn't do it for me at all!

I think now I want to see something different but it's all the same thing year in year out. I didn't watch it last year because i was fed up with it but there's not much else to do this year so I'll give it a go and hope it gets interesting 😁

alwayshappy93 · 19/04/2020 08:53

I cannot stand the kid acts.
And the judges always put them through and give them false hope.

IAcceptCookies · 19/04/2020 09:14

There’s so much padding and bumf to BGT: they could show so many more acts in the allotted time.

And yes, I too am getting fed up of all the schmaltz and heart stings stuff; if you’re talented you don’t need it, but they seem to go mad for it on BGT. And if you have military connections, better make sure you exploit that, too!

Am I the only one who thought the “swing” singer Was bloody awful? Very thin and reedy voice.

Standrewsschool · 19/04/2020 18:44

Have you seen this prank done by Simon Brodkin (aka Lee Nelson). Basically, he deduces that’s BGT is a con, and as long as you have certain elements (eg. Sub story ), then you’ll get through. He pretended to be a rapping Jewish rabbi, and got through to the judges and goy four years, before being found out.

If nothing else, it’s interesting to see what a contestant has to go through in terms if auditions, interviews etc.

Standrewsschool · 19/04/2020 18:45

Only caught the end of yesterday’s show. Although the unicycle was good at what he did, there wasn’t much of an act there.

Elderflower14 · 25/04/2020 20:03

Evening all.... Struggling to keep awake tonight..

What a racket.

TofutiKline · 25/04/2020 20:09

I remember when choirs used to sing.

applepineapple · 25/04/2020 20:10

Not sure about the kids group. Sweet but there are so many child acts on BGT

TofutiKline · 25/04/2020 20:10

Oh shut up Alesha. It was shit and you know it.

Soubriquet · 25/04/2020 20:11

Oh..I liked it!Blush

ILoveYou3000 · 25/04/2020 20:12

I liked it purely because of how much those kids were enjoying themselves!
