Binge watched last night (sorry dh for waking you at 1.00 this morning)
Just fabulous, I can really recommend.

I really enjoyed watching it, very fascinating.
Currently binge watching Shtisel.

Loved Shtisel. It's hard to describe not a lot happens sometimes but it keeps you engaged. I really enjoyed it. Apparently a third series has been made or is being made.

@pinkpinecone I can make myself understood to German speakers with my rusty Yiddish although the pronunciations are different. A bit like the French gendarme in 'Allo, allo' when he speaks English, maybe? I'm showing my age here!

It's also really interesting to look at the Haredi community in terms of the good they do and the members who are very happy. Of course there are issues, but the way Ultra Orthodoxy is fetishised neglects the great warmth and kindness it also contains.

For those who want more depth, try One of Us. I am halfway through and finding it pretty disturbing (in particular the hold they appear to have on the justice system in New York)

Gripping and doesn't let you go till the end. I hope there is another series.

And how beautiful is Etsy with her short hair. What an amazingly expressive face she has

It was something that will stay with me for a long, long time. It was one of the stand out dramas that I've ever seen.

The scene where she is in the night club with her new friends as she 'tunes in' to a new way of being... just wow.

And the short cropped hair and her diminutive stature made her seem child-like in many ways - sure that was deliberate.

I too hope there's a second series.
