Apologies if there's already a thread, but I couldn't see one. Anyone watching? Apparently this is a new series.

I'm waiting for the bench seats to make their inevitable appearance......Grin

The whole thing doesn’t seem to make sense. If you look at the downstairs there don’t seem to be any actual bedrooms.

"How can one big room possibly be practical for families when you have one person doing homework quietly, one person cooking, one person watching tv and another doing music practice??"

An open plan kitchen/diner with space for a play zone is ideal when you have young kids because you can keep them occupied and keep an eye on them while cooking and clearing up in the kitchen.

Separate rooms are useful when the kids get older and need separate spaces for homework and other different activities.

So their plan, which had a large open plan kitchen/diner plus separate reception rooms that could be kept open or closed, was versatile and IMO perfect.

Ladyeloise yes perfect for families but in my opinion just your standard extension that you see everywhere, very nice but ultimately a bit generic, good for resale it will appeal to a lot of people.

I really liked Laura’s design this week, lovely family home.

TreeTopTim · 20/04/2020 17:40

@Strawberrypancakes it is on home or HGTV as it is now called. It is on at the same time as Your Home Made Perfect. Which is a bit of a pain if you don't have recording facilities or iPlayer.

TreeTopTim · 20/04/2020 17:51

@FlamingoAndJohn I also wondered about the wall upstairs. They never mentioned best it was. As for downstairs they were just two big living rooms. I would not want to sleep in those rooms.

Im not a fan of open plan. I like kitchen/diners with a separate living room. Laura's design for downstairs worked well but the biggest change was upstairs. The new bedrooms worked much better than the old layout.

You can see Robert trying to work out where his benches ate going to go.

BinkySodPlop · 21/04/2020 20:13

Will the ubiquitous bench seats be brown? Probably.

BruceAndNosh · 21/04/2020 20:14

Final spend? At least 30 thou

jay55 · 21/04/2020 20:15

I love that it's a different issue this week. And kinda of pointless levels taking on board the lady needs a flat surface is a miracle.

jay55 · 21/04/2020 20:15

*King of not kinda

RandomMess · 21/04/2020 20:20

Can't imagine anything much for £15k...

BruceAndNosh · 21/04/2020 20:32

Looks like a bird hide!

dazzlingdeborahrose · 21/04/2020 20:33

And there it is.

Yubaba · 21/04/2020 20:33

Who called the bench seats?

BruceAndNosh · 21/04/2020 20:33

YaYYYYY!

jay55 · 21/04/2020 20:33

Concrete bench seats, sound so uncomfy.
And it looks so dark.

Brillig · 21/04/2020 20:33
