halsal the tutorial on the website was pretty good.

I used two layers - one of good quality cotton and then medium Calico for the lining.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/05/2020 21:12

Oh dear, lot of problems here. It's a tricky one!

dillite · 13/05/2020 21:12

Also, are you putting gin nose grips? Where are you getting them from?

Halsall · 13/05/2020 21:13

I'm making mine from quilting-type cotton - my stash is being raided - for the top layer, and cotton lawn (re-purposed skirt lining) for the lining layer, dillite

Jellykat · 13/05/2020 21:13

dillite cotton as its got to be washed at 60 degrees, and the weave has got to be teeny tiny.

HotCrossBungle · 13/05/2020 21:13

Also loving the sparkly tracksuit

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/05/2020 21:14

Matt's looks like a lady's.

dillite · 13/05/2020 21:17

All of the shirts are being pulled up in the middle by their plackets. Is that supposed to happen?

Binglebong · 13/05/2020 21:17

I've used cotton (I think quilting) that I already had. I've done the one where you can add in a filter - if it gets bad I'll use felt but for now I'm doing without. Just have flower/garden wire for my nose but i have seen people recommending pipe cleaners.

Really glad I'm not doing this challenge - looks evil.

Binglebong · 13/05/2020 21:18

Has one of the blokes he needs to stand out and be "quirky" with the fez? Confused

dillite · 13/05/2020 21:18

Oh no, she's about to cry.

RomaineCalm · 13/05/2020 21:19

There are some really nice shirts there.

As an aside, I remember my mum getting 20 of these each weeek to wash - all done in a twin tub washing machine. Shock

HotCrossBungle · 13/05/2020 21:19

I'm never going to make a rugby shirt

Jellykat · 13/05/2020 21:19

dillite i haven't started yet, but my friends used pipe cleaners.
I'm going to have a go with cotton sew in interfacing in the middle layer.

Halsall · 13/05/2020 21:19

dillite I just said exactly that to DH!

I'm using ordinary twist ties for the nose grips, or garden ties that come on a roll and you just cut off the length you want.

I've got some 'non-woven fabric' for filters. But apparently interfacing is fine to use for that.

Halsall · 13/05/2020 21:20

X-post with Jelly re the interfacing...

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/05/2020 21:20

DBs used to have reversible ones. I'm glad they didn't have to make those!

dillite · 13/05/2020 21:21

Thanks all! I have pipe cleaners as well. Will see what happens!

What are cagools???

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/05/2020 21:21

Reversible rugby shirts I mean.

Jellykat · 13/05/2020 21:22

Grin Halsall great minds!

HotCrossBungle · 13/05/2020 21:22

Showerproof jackets

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 13/05/2020 21:23

Like a windcheater maybe dillite? A very thin raincoat/jacket, usually made from nylon I think. They often roll up into a pouch or their own pocket.

dillite · 13/05/2020 21:24

I had no idea that those pack-a-macs had their own names! Hoe very quaint.

Jellykat · 13/05/2020 21:25

Oo the leopardskin one's a bit of a skinny fit, is the child not going to wear anything underneath?

dillite · 13/05/2020 21:25

I am seeing a drag queen toddler suit.
