Robert and Emily and daughter EMILY swap homes and budgets with siobhan and ANDY and their 3 children

My only moan is that they don’t swap with same number of children

Be good for rich kids to share a bedroom like the poor usually do

I really loved this!

The rich guy was a real character! He really enjoyed meeting people. He was saying the poor people should do more together but it seems to apply to his family as well!

By the way, I nearly missed this! I knew there was something on at 9pm, looked in my tv mag and couldn't see anything. It was only by a fluke that I saw it advertised on the tv.

Of course, I thought it was Monday yesterday which didn't help! I was reading the wrong day's listing!!

Deathraystare · 30/03/2020 07:10

I really felt for the poor wife . She must have been through a lot. However, she obviously really loves her family.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/03/2020 14:22

I enjoyed but keep saying it. Need same number of children to appreciate what the poorer family don’t have in bedrooms
And space

4 young kids v one teenager adult child

Rich dad funny over his cups and teapots tho spending that out of their budget was silly

As mum said he spent £5 of budget on stuff they didn’t need

The Scottish dancing was good

Wonder who the babysitter was who had kids

Poor chap it just goes to show money cant buy your health.

RandomMess · 05/04/2020 21:42

But unfair that 2 adults and 2 kids get the same budget that is for one adult and 2 kids as her brother doesn't live with her.

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2020 22:01

Im being shallow but Nicky Clarke didnt seem to do much to her hair, how much does he charge I wonder?

bonnieclydesdale · 05/04/2020 22:08

I was thinking that but then it was probably more for her to get advice from him?

EachandEveryone · 05/04/2020 22:14

Well that would be disappointing after he’d sat you in his chair😄

TreeTopTim · 06/04/2020 18:29

I agree that the families should be the same set up ie 2 parents/2kids, single mum 3 kids, couple no kids etc.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/04/2020 23:16

Lol I thought that about nc and hair

Both lovely families. Just shocked spending £600 a week on food

purpleme12 · 07/04/2020 23:55

Yes that's a hell of a lot!

The poor house had a lovely house (apart from the mould). My house (private rent) is bigger than theirs probably but nowhere near as nice

june2007 · 08/04/2020 00:22

They said about £100+ for hair cut.

MyDcAreMarvel · 08/04/2020 01:01

The rich boys did not come across as lovely, they were rude, , spoilt and ignorant with the Africa comment.

horlicksbabe · 08/04/2020 01:03

I was shocked by the £600 a week on food, especially as the Dad said he was having healthy meals and then that they were getting takeaways. What did the boy say about Africa, I missed that bit.

SleepingStandingUp · 08/04/2020 01:08

I liked this episode. I suspect the brother is there a fair bit and hse probably feeds him as they let him move with her.
It's the first in a while where I really felt "ouch" about their budget. I don't understand why she isn't able to get more hlwo on benefits
Also the career guidance from NC was nice but it was a bit odd, and clearly planted. Rich Dad wouldn't go get his hair cut and some career advice...

june2007 · 08/04/2020 01:08

One of the boys said they knew about the poverty in Africa but noth the uk. I wouldn,t say that was spoilt just perhaps ignorant and representative of the kid of upbringing they have had.

horlicksbabe · 08/04/2020 01:14

One of the boys said they knew about the poverty in Africa but noth the uk.

Oh yes, I did hear that bit but didn't think of it as an indication that he was spoilt, more sheltered. His ideas of poverty in Africa are probably way off the mark as well - most children have no idea that parts of Africa are extremely wealthy and get quite a surprise if they are taught about it in school.

SleepingStandingUp · 08/04/2020 05:05

I'd think the UK poverty comment pretty common for a child of his age and class though if thry don't mix "outside" their circles. Why would he anticipate that some kids love on cereal twice a day cos it's cheaper than "proper" food or that some families never do stuff outside the house as there's no money unless someone had taught him?

purpleme12 · 08/04/2020 09:19

Yes I agree they're just sheltered
People don't know stuff unless they're told or have exposure and they're only young

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/04/2020 14:18

His wife looked a bit plastic

Wonder who long they had been together

Tho I think he loved her

Anyone saw last nights ?

Couple who own over 80 houses swap with couple and child who live in a rented house

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 13/04/2020 13:09

Yes it seemed to be the poor family had so little money just cos the mum didn't want to put the child in childcare?
