Oh I LOVE this program, dh and I look forward to playing along every day! We only got into it this year so we're happy about the repeats being shown now.

It has a way of exposing what the tv personalities are really like as well as how intelligent they are, I think. There was definitely friction between Dom Joly and John Robins, Lou Sanders was bloody annoying and unpleasant, and Judy Murray seems nice but knows nothing about anything but sport. Jamelia surprised me by being quite likeable and clever, which never came across when I saw her on Loose Women!

It's adorable when Richard Osman modestly pretends he doesn't know all the answers\spellings.

My favourite round is 'Where is Kazakhstan?'. DH and I pause the telly and one of us gets up and points at the map. Blush

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 17/03/2020 09:49

We love it too.

I like the Where is? Round and answer smash, but my favourite is the one where children write the questions 😁 That’s something to play at home too.

Helenheller · 17/03/2020 13:11

My favourite show - we all play along. Miles Jupp has been my favourite so far - all four that week were great.

So lovely and gentle and good humoured.

That bloke from Flog It (Paul?) knew NOTHING! Literally NOTHING!!!

20viona · 17/03/2020 13:12

Love this show! Always watch it recorded though so I can skip the first repetitive 5-6 mins about the guests.

ClashCityRocker · 17/03/2020 13:15

I love it but it wasn't on yesterday! Has it finished?

LaMarschallin · 17/03/2020 13:17

Oh, absolutely this^^

Although, I think it's adorable when he breathes, sits down, speaks, exists...

....huh? Whazzit?

Drifted off briefly.

And, yes, it is fascinating what various celebrities are like. Often the noisy "Look at meeee! Revive my career!" ones are the worst.
And I wanted to totally slap Lou Sanders. And Ellie Goulding.

However, Nish Kumar rose like a helium balloon held by a distracted toddler in my estimation.

bananamonkey · 17/03/2020 13:19

Yes love it apart, I’m useless at the geography and averages but love answer smash.

Old episodes are on Dave everyday if you want to stock up on recorded programmes Wink

Becca19962014 · 17/03/2020 13:28

I've loved it since it began and the one he did briefly with members of the public before it which I've forgotten the name of.

I'll never forget the contestant who won the one before house of games and when asked what he was going to spend his prize on grinning replied "I'm going to see Mr T." Richard osmans jaw dropped and asked, politely, if he was serious or joking and the bloke then explained he'd loved the a team and met various others of the cast and couldn't wait. He was so happy. And it ended with Richard saying he was happy, albeit slightly bemused, as he never expected to hear that as an answer!

LaMarschallin · 17/03/2020 13:51

Two Tribes?

JaneJeffer · 17/03/2020 14:02

I love when Richard says "well done if you got that at home". Makes me feel proud of myself Grin

PorridgeAgainAbney · 17/03/2020 14:03

It's 7 year old DS's favourite programme so it's lucky I love it too Smile. There's only been one week where I thought the contestents took it too seriously but otherwise they seem to have chosen people who get on really well without egos getting in the way.

Our favourite round is Where is Kazakstan? Grin

Becca19962014 · 17/03/2020 15:02

That's it!! Thankyou LaM

squashyhat · 17/03/2020 15:15

I've just got into it too. Pointless on BBC1 and then HoG on 2. Can you tell I'm retired? Blush

jackparlabane · 17/03/2020 15:22

I love HoG though some of the contestants milk the 'I know nothing' a bit too much, and the Champion of Champions week got a bit tetchy.

I wish Where is Kazakhstan? and averages and the kids asking questions rounds came up more often. But it's great with ds age 10 - he doesn't know many answers but laughs like a drain at the wordplay ones, especially Answer Smash.

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 17/03/2020 15:28

I love how on Monday the celebs generally play it cool, and then by about Wednesday they'd sell their Granny if it meant a win. Grin

It builds really well.

Standrewsschool · 17/03/2020 16:41

Watched it this week for the first time and found myself enjoying it. Love Pointless as well ( and find myself storing away useless facts in the unlikely chance I ever appear on it)

ChampooPapi · 17/03/2020 17:16

@Helenheller yes love miles jupp in everything, best thing he's in in my opinion is 'in and out of the kitchen' on radio 4, it's fabulous.

That guy from flogit was unbelievable, was he sedated 😉, he really didn't even get one wrong for like three days!

ChampooPapi · 17/03/2020 17:21

*didn't get one right!

LargeGinOnTap · 17/03/2020 17:21

I really like this show
It makes your mind work in different ways and doesn't just test general knowledge

LargeGinOnTap · 17/03/2020 17:24

The flog it guy was hopeless. The history/ date rounds especially it's his job he goes all over the country doing history stuff. Surely you pick some of it up when you visit the stately homes of those who were involved in some of the events. Also how can you value stuff which he does sometimes if you don't know the history surrounding it

iklboo · 17/03/2020 17:28

It's brilliant. We love it so much. It gets quite competitive.

iklboo · 17/03/2020 17:31

Apparently it's finished for now but they're showing repeats. And they've filmed loads more to be shown in about 12 weeks WITH NEW PRIZES!!

seekingwaxwings · 17/03/2020 17:31

YES Paul from Flog It was awful! And he kept pretending he was just about to press the buzzer but someone else beat him to it!

I agree Miles Jupp (Giles Mupp Grin) was a joy. I would trust the running of the country to a coalition of Miles Jupp, Richard Osman and Louis Theroux.

DoTheNextRightThing · 17/03/2020 17:32

Ah I love this! It's quirky, the tasks are actually fun, the guests are usually great, and the prizes crack me up. Top show!

iklboo · 17/03/2020 17:35

Lou Sanders was SO annoying. Mind you she was on Taskmaster as well.

Loved Scarlett Moffat - she was so much fun. Nish Kumar, Miles Jupp & James Acaster were great too.
