Next sat looks good - with poor ruby struggling to juggle work and harmony

And matty pushes jade to the limit

@purpleme12

What's with the weird pointless subplot of Leo and David?! Are they trying to use all the actors but in a one on one way all the time cos it covid?? Cos it just seemed to serve no purpose
There was literally no point to that story at all. It wasn't even a subplot. It was just - Shit, we've only written 30 minutes worth of actual script, what can we use as filler?
Optimist1 · 07/02/2021 10:27

Shit, we've only written 30 minutes worth of actual script, what can we use as filler? - spot on, @TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross! And what did they come up with? "Man mends toaster" (with not even a slight electrocution).

m00rfarm · 07/02/2021 12:41

Yes - Leo (I thought it was Leon) is really annoying me in any case - and it was so obvious he was going to electrocute himself ... then he didn't. I am not sure whether that irritated me more - what a pointless scene. Surely no one can be that annoying, for no purpose, every time he opens his mouth.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 07/02/2021 13:36

I was fully expecting for Leo not to have done the car repairs properly, with David then having a serious accident.

Haven't they also reduced the number of people involved in the accidents too?

It feels as if the episodes are a lot less meaty and lose a lot with recuding the number of charaters involved in each episode.

purpleme12 · 07/02/2021 15:27

There's loads less people in every single scene
Every single scene is a lot quieter and it's really noticeable. There's no hustle and bustle at all
But I feel like it really affects the programme and the characters

purpleme12 · 07/02/2021 15:27

The characters don't seem natural and like they normally are to me

SoupDragon · 07/02/2021 15:44

It is definitely suffering from the Covid restrictions.

CherryValanc · 07/02/2021 16:05

What i don't get is why don't they use a mask on some of the characters to allow them to be up close. There's background staff characters wearing them - so why not use those for the main characters instead - the nurse doing the ultra sound was close to the woman from the domestic abuse story surely it would make it better to mask up the and allow them closer than 2m. Even them being 1m apart would be less odd for a getting medical help plot!!

SoupDragon · 07/02/2021 17:09

They probably still have to keep their distance due to the length of time they are working close.

SoupDragon · 07/02/2021 17:10

I think it's a case of having to accept that it's going to be awkward.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/02/2021 20:38

So she’s still 7mtgd preg

At 7mtgs I looked like a whale

No way my coat would do up over bump

Not surprised jan didn’t notice

So assume wife beater went back to okd ways as screwed up help sheets given to him

Plus the 999 call

SophieB100 · 13/02/2021 09:08

Yeah Blondes, I found the shot of the screwed up help sheets really chilling, poor woman was going back to hell with him.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/02/2021 09:39

I think they were just making the point: statistically, the abuser is unlikely to change and sadly, a lot of women return again and again to an abusive situation before they can find their way out of it. I thought it was good to acknowledge how the pandemic has increased the danger to women in abusive relationships.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2021 11:06

Stupid woman. Didn’t want to be alone but had the baby kicked out of her :(

Some people don’t chnage

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross
I agree - I thought they highlighted a very important issue.

Lellochip · 13/02/2021 11:27

Apart from Ethan and Rash, who else knows about Ethan's diagnosis? Does Charlie know?

I think just Connie, he told her when she was ill

I think Charlie does know, but don't think anyone else does besides Rash - most the people Ethan told at the time have gone now.

Jan really is an awful manager. Every time Fenisha tried to speak to her I. This episode she interrupted her and then took a phone call or walked off.

It was so annoying! I find that often happens in programmes, someone says they have something to say and then the other person tries guessing rather than listening, and then gets distracted and walks off. If someone says they have something to say I would want to hear it!

I hadn't actually noticed that they were all standing 2m apart all the time until it was pointed out on here. Tbf, COVID exists in "Casualty world" so what they're doing is pretty realistic, isn't it? If it was more realistic, admittedly, they'd be wearing masks but I'm very glad they're not wearing masks - I don't think that would make for very good television if you couldn't see anyone's faces most of the time!

SoupDragon · 13/02/2021 16:34

It's only really obvious when it's family members of a patient keeping their distance I think.

purpleme12 · 13/02/2021 17:02

I think it's really obvious all the time

Optimist1 · 13/02/2021 18:04

In Jan's defence, if someone in her team wants to talk about something important they shouldn't try to shoehorn into the working day, but say that they need to talk to her for twenty minutes or so as soon as possible, and when could it be scheduled. The nature of the paramedic working day means that having to drop everything at any time is a real possibility - Fenisha knows this and she's waited many months to break the news, so could manage to wait till Jan could give her her full attention .

purpleme12 · 13/02/2021 18:29

Well, ever since Fenisha backchatted Jan all those months ago i've never been that keen on her.

Dontlickthetrolley · 13/02/2021 20:30

It's now Winter 2020 and she's STILL pregnant Shock

purpleme12 · 13/02/2021 20:31

Not for much longer

purpleme12 · 13/02/2021 20:48

I like how Jan just throws the scissors and stays away
Lev stays away from the patient
And Jan doesn't even go to see Fenisha
I know it must be because of covid but it just seems ridiculous watching it
