Thought better start a thread as no one else had

Next sat looks good - with poor ruby struggling to juggle work and harmony

And matty pushes jade to the limit

@purpleme12

I can't believe they made us think she was going in the water with the ambulance!! I agree it was like seconds from her being far away from Lev's hand to the ambulance going in so rather strange that one!
It’s moments like that that make all the social distancing really jarring and awkward.

Interesting watching this and Home and Away - filming on that seems to be much less affected by the whole Covid-secure thing. Actors are allowed to touch each other and everything...

purpleme12 · 30/01/2021 22:52

I think the whole programme's awkward to be honest

Arobase · 31/01/2021 01:31

I can just picture the script meeting leading to tonight's episode.

"Can't SOMEONE think of a scenario that means we don't have to have too many pesky extras wandering around A&E and we can justify loads of social distancing?"

Yes it's awful 😞😞😞
CherryValanc · 31/01/2021 10:17

Well that was awash with wooden acting!! Jacob was bad enough and Roy even worse, with a side order of Marty's dad.

Almost comical.

On a side, it's so weird having all this "let's go to the pub" stuff. I'm not in the UK and the pubs (that just serve drink) haven't been open since last March. The rest that have been occasionally open you had to book into.

purpleme12 · 31/01/2021 10:18

I think the acting looks bad since all the covid filming
I'm guessing it looks bad cos it seems so awkward and unnatural with all this new way of doing it all

Optimist1 · 31/01/2021 14:49

I'm a bit confused about the timescale. Was last night's episode a flashback to an earlier time than other episodes we've seen? If so, why was new paramedic boy in it, as we saw his arrival a couple of weeks ago. If not, why were Connie and Jacob suddenly estranged?

spiderlight · 31/01/2021 14:54

Connie distanced herself from Jacob at the end of lockdown/early in this series, when she was struggling to cope.

Arobase · 31/01/2021 16:50

At the beginning I think they said it was autumn 2020 - I'm guessing around September.

JustDanceAddict · 31/01/2021 17:52

Pubs were def open then but only for groups of 6. Wonder if they’ll be ‘stuck’ in that ‘era’ or move to Tiers and further lockdowns!!

SoupDragon · 31/01/2021 18:11

If it's like Eastenders, they will just ignore it. Rightly so as far as I'm concerned.

Yes it's had an effect aright. But I think Charles Venn has always been a bit wooden not on the same scale as Derek Thompson!!

Never seen him in anything else so not sure if it's just this role but he strikes me as more of a stage actor than TV. His attempt at limping out from the explosion cracked me up.

The man playing Roy was just so monotone.

purpleme12 · 31/01/2021 20:44

I agree about Roy

I don't normally think Charles Venn is bad.
But I did feel he was different tonight
But I kind of get that feeling from a lot of them as well since the whole covid filming

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2021 19:35

I thought Marty’s dad had died

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 02/02/2021 19:37

I don't think they tied up the Marty's dad storyline very well

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/02/2021 19:52

Oh. The man blew his self up :(

SoupDragon · 04/02/2021 16:42

When Ethan found out I think she was 7 months but I'm not sure where that is in "real" time. It's all been messed about. It could be any time!

Dontlickthetrolley · 04/02/2021 17:19

I did wonder if Saturdays episode was one of the first they recorded when they went back to work which is why it looked so different to the other episodes already seen??

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2021 18:10

Think last eeek said autumn so sept Oct

purpleme12 · 06/02/2021 21:05

What's with the weird pointless subplot of Leo and David?!
Are they trying to use all the actors but in a one on one way all the time cos it covid??
Cos it just seemed to serve no purpose

Trunkysbun · 06/02/2021 22:08

It's getting shitter each week isn't it 🥺

purpleme12 · 06/02/2021 23:25

I just want the normal Casualty back like before covid 😟

HettySunshine · 07/02/2021 08:19

Jan really is an awful manager. Every time Fenisha tried to speak to her I. This episode she interrupted her and then took a phone call or walked off.

So unprofessional!

Apart from Ethan and Rash, who else knows about Ethan's diagnosis? Does Charlie know?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 07/02/2021 08:22

Just watched last night's episode - the social distancing just looks ridiculous now. They need to try to find some way round it. Everyone having conversations precisely 2 metres apart. It was so obvious last night when that poor patient (Linda?) was sitting on the bed and Rash and Fenisha were hovering awkwardly at the edges of her cubicle. Rash should have been patching up her wound, checking her bruises, not standing six feet away clearly desperate to leave!
