I take it upon myself to start this bridging thread as Blondes is out if you remember. Feel free to delete!

Thanks @tobee - thanks for bridging thread :)

Indeed I was out - didn’t expect that many replies and new one

new thread here

Phil doesn’t know he was responsible for the boat steering though does he?

I never read the magazines and didn’t know about the Greek tragedy. I think it would probably have gone over my head anyway. I only knew somebody was going to die from this thread.

Two brothers Bobby and Peter reunited while another two brothers will never meet.

I don’t understand why anyone who was in the water is not sick. The water must be filthy and freezing - yet Keanu didn’t even change out of his wet clothes!

PattiPrice · 22/02/2020 10:07

Something appeared on my FB just now that is making me eat my words about not reading about EE!

What were June Brown’s recent storylines? The actor allegedly complained about them. I can’t remember anything other than she was left money and Sonia tried to steal some.

SoupDragon · 22/02/2020 10:21

I only heard it on the radio/BBC news but I think her point was that there hadn't been any real storylines for Dot. Not really since Dr Legg dying.

SoupDragon · 22/02/2020 10:22

The water must be filthy

No, it's perfectly clear - as seen in the shots of Ben n Ken when they went overboard 😂

I actually think this might be the end of Eastenders for me. They've killed too many children.

I agree with you on this one. I find it hard to watch and it doesn't seem justified when there are lots of crap adult actors that could probably do with going. I think they kill the kids off for maximum emotional impact as they know most viewers have kids, but it is just lazy writing. Like I said on pp, you need links between the generations to keep a soap going, and at this rate there won't be any. We've had Abi, Steven, Shakil, Hunter, Denny and Kush's baby all go in recent years and they were all under 25, or thereabouts. I can only think of Mel as an older adult who has gone in recent years. Am I missing some others? It seems a bit sadistic when you think about it!

When they killed off Abi and Steven I swore I'd stop watching, but I am getting a bit fed up now.

BrutusMcDogface · 22/02/2020 12:09

It does feel wrong to kill a kid like that; Denny was only a teenager (no idea exactly how old, but young anyway)

MrHodgeymaheg · 22/02/2020 12:27

Maybe I am just being over-sensitive as I do have a low threshold for this stuff, but it is a bit strange that it is only young people are getting killed off. It's like they are too scared to get rid of well established adult characters and tend to only get rid of randoms who are in it for 6 months (Ray etc). I think they do it for the Shock value, but one of the most memorable scenes is when super Sonia had her shock baby and nobody had to die for that. If it was now, she probably would have died in childbirth.

I have enjoyed speculating how it was all going to pan out this week, but I am fed up of yet another young person going. I think the young people tend to move along in their careers quickly, so it's easier to kill them off, so they do not have to get rid of established adult characters that people are fond off or nuhead the young ones when they have to leave.

Still things to happen with Mick and Whitney

I hope not! He belongs with his L. I've got fingers crossed for more torment for twatney. Linda is right to be suspicious, she knows what Whit is like

BigTeaCup · 22/02/2020 17:11

But all Whit has to do is put on the poor pity me vulnerable damsel in distress act, like a little baby bird, and she knows Mick will react to it.

BigTeaCup · 22/02/2020 17:37

I miss Steven :(

PattiPrice · 22/02/2020 22:58

And I miss Abi. She was excellent.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 24/02/2020 20:13

I loved Daniels Duran Duran joke! 😂

SoupDragon · 24/02/2020 22:32

There's another "proper" thread here

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 25/02/2020 11:59

Thanks soup!

LuluJakey1 · 25/02/2020 19:56

No urgency about Callum. He has now been lying there for days and no one seems to be out looking!
