What's about to come out then? I don't see it as the British press as particularly wanting black people/men to fail, it's just people in general, the slightest whiff of anything and they will pound and hound into submission, it's appalling.

Please dont deny people's experiences. What they're referring to is an insidious dog whistle that is common if you know what you're looking for.

I've just read the statement that Mike's family put out. I'm not surprised about GMP covering up racist incidents but it's still shocking that they don't appear to be offering him any support in light of the untrue stories.

Mike's brother was on The Apprentice and he's previously spoken about institutional racism.

Last season there were so many arguments about new threads getting started early so hopefully this season we can use up the threads and then start a new one once we're very nearly at the 1000 posts mark just to save derailing every new thread with the same argument.

According to the sun he is accused of improper conduct by the Greater Manchester Police and is under investigation. They are saying (the sun that is), that he didn't leave to go on love island as he said but because of these allegations.

The police force have said they can't comment on an ongoing investigation.

The family have released the above statement basically saying he was the victim of racism in the force and that it's not true he left under a cloud.

Not sure if there is anymore to come from the families comments I think there maybe.

Except for Connor, the guys all seem quite sameish. Where are the personalities? They are all dull.

I did not enjoy the last series - it was full of bullies. This one, however seems really promising and has some interesting characters.

If Mike got kicked off the show what does everyone think Leanne would do?

I'm so disappointed about Mike. I'm a copper, and don't want to say too much, but PSD investigations are pretty standard, an officer might get 1-2 in their career, sometimes for gross misconduct (in which case they'd be suspended), sometimes for smaller issues, but ones that need investigating. They'll often go to a hearing, public or otherwise.
What annoys me is it's being reported that he handed his warrant card in when the investigation was launched, so he hasn't been an officer for at least a year! Yet he's shown in a stab vest, walking through custody etc in his VT. It's cringe. So either way, whether he left to.do LI or left because of the investigation, he's not a police officer and hasn't been for a while, he needs to stop telling people he is. I really hope he doesn't leave and this isn't the true story. A lot of the public already think we're a bunch of shady liars

I’m disappointed in Mike too, makes a big deal about being in the police in his VT when he actually isn’t anymore. Before all this came out I was 🤷‍♀️ that anyone could leave a job like that to go on this.
