Rita's in the floor, Derek's in a bind, Gemma's had babies and is going out her mind.
Nick is grimacing nicely, and Sarah's forgot the plot.
And we're all just gathering around and hoping Dev gets shot.

Homophobic builder dad just gets worse.

Builder dad is beyond dreadful. I feel embarrassed for the actor, the writers, everyone.

Where are Geoff and Yasmeen?

Hopefully Yasmeen has locked Geoff in that magic box (the one he locked her in) & put it out for the council to take away 😂

I can’t bear the Geoff/Yasmeen storyline. I know he’s supposed to be awful but what is missing is the superficial charm that would have led her to fall for him. (For comparison, see the Charlie storyline a few years back.). Geoff just comes across as all round terrible.

Edison was awful last night.

I suspect I may get flamed for this as others who have commented afterwards don't seem to mind, but I feel that @hotgamermum69 's post borders on a spoiler- I read a spoiler-free thread because I don't want to know what is going to happen next week until I watch it. I'd really like to keep this thread spoiler-free as this has been the only forum that I've actually been able to trust that there won't be spoilers on a supposedly spoiler free thread most of the time!

The builder family are awful. On paper they sound like they have potential, builder dad, mum a former nurse working in a cafe even though she can't cook, one son a failed inventor, who goes from one madcap scheme to the next, the other a closeted gay footballer, but they are all rubbish. They don't look alike or speak alike and none of them can act, rubbish!

Let's face it, few Corrie actors can actually act.

I heartily agree about the builder family. They just parrot their lines without seeming to understand what they are saying, like infants in a school assembly.

A lot of them aren't great actors, but after a little while they sort of inhabit their character, so it feels fairly natural iykwim. That hasn't happened with them, and it doesn't help that they are unconvincing as a family. And their house grows more hideous every time we see it.

At first, I thought "Oh, good, for once a nice, fairly happy and ordinary family, more like the Corrie families of old." Not any more.

Dr Ali reminds me of Oddbod Junior from Carry on Screaming with his hair like that

I agree about the footballer family. But not about the potential.
So weird that the older son's only personality trait is thinking of stupid things to invent. Now has a daughter he occasionally dotes on. No job?
The dad is a builder and former gambler I believe. That's it, right? And homophobic.
The mum is a rubbish cook and used to be a nurse.
And there is one character who actually has a bit of a personality.
But all the scenes with the mum or dad in really make me cringe. Such 2 dimensional characters.

I was quite moved by Gemma when she and Ches were sitting on the settee at the end. Felt sorry for Jawsif too. Jack surprised me- he seems quite grown up all of a sudden.

Poor old Ches. He has an expression of permanent bafflement; life must be so puzzling for him.
