Doc Martin - anyone watching?

Love this show and find it a bit of light relief and easy to watch.

Anyway, has anyone noticed that the the random patients’ names that Martin or Morwenna shout out are funny names? I might have imagined it but am sure I registered something last week (tend to be on my screen whilst I’m watching) but this week I definitely heard him say Iona Castle. Just me or does everyone know this inside joke?

Is it a brand new series?! I didn't know there was one if it is. I love Doc Martin.

I've always watched it but the last few years, my 16 year old DS has watched aswell (this and Death in Paradise are about the only two shows we watch as a family).
Just before the start of this series, I read that they've been doing the funny names thing for a while. Apparently, some of them have been really funny and the crew don't know how Martin Clunes manages to keep a straight face. We now make a special effort to listen out for them

Thought there was great comic timing and slapstick last night, especially with the Caroline Quentin / Martin Clunes surgery scene near the end.
However, my acting gong goes to the dog who plays Buddy. He was brilliant last night. We all burst out laughing when Martin lifted his tail to take his temperature and his head popped up!

And yes, Port Isaac is lovely.

One of my favourite restaurants in the whole world is there - Outlaws Fish Kitchen, right opposite the harbour. The last time we ate there, Gordon and Tana Ramsay were there aswell.

Buddy is a star, lovely cheeky wee face is great to see. The slapstick was very funny. I hope there will be more series ahead next year.

Love Caroline Quentin. We’re working our way through Men Behaving Badly with our 15yo and it’s reminded me how funny she is. My son is loving it too and I hope it’s not giving him ideas. 🤣

I watch Doc Martin re runs all the time, last week was the firs time I’d noticed the funny name. Don’t know how it’s escaped me before.

Port Isaac is indeed very beautiful. I used to visit before Doc Martin days. It was much quieter. Sadly it over run with tourists these days.
I once turned a corner and sitting right in front of me was Earl Spencer and his family. I was frozen to the spot.
I'm enjoying Eastenders lately. I think it's really picked up over the last few weeks. I like the Sharon/Louise/ etc etc storyline.
I like reading your predictions and must say I'm hooked on the idea of Keegan being the daddy of Louises baby.
