Starts tomorrow

When a young, talented ballerina is found dead on an ancient stone altar, her death drags up another tragedy that befell this community years before - when three children disappeared into the local woods and only one returned

Have just been catching up on the Dublin Murders. Came here to find out what exactly the Cassie / Lexi storyline is, thought I must have missed part of an episode as it doesn't make much sense.... looks like I'm not the only one who thought it was a bit ambiguous. Quite enjoying the show, other than this.

BIWI · 03/11/2019 08:59

I see what you mean, @happilybemused - but I think, actually, the whole 'Cassie pretending to be Lexie' story would have been a lot more credible if it had been built up more gradually, and her skill/expertise in undercover work made more evident.

I also feel that it keeps Cassie as a support character to what's clearly the main story, which is Rob/Adam - and that's a shame too.

Clawdy · 03/11/2019 09:19

I really hope there will be an explanation about the exact resemblance of Lexie and Cassie, otherwise the whole story will be ludicrous. And wouldn't it have made sense for the police guy dropping "Lexie" off at the students house to say to them "Don't forget she has been in a coma, and she still has serious memory problems, she may forget things, and not be herself at times...." That would have made the whole situation easier for Cassie.

peridito · 03/11/2019 17:03

He'd have to add some explanation as to how fast her wound has healed and how quickly her physical strength has returned ,enabling her to succesfully chase after and tackle a man running away .

But then ,where would be the fun in that .

I'm mightily pissed off with the stretching credibilty in this series .But still watching and still smiling over the lady on mobilty scooter near Katy's family home - "I got these (flowers) in just in case .You pray for the best but expect the worst "

happilybemused · 03/11/2019 18:05

BIWi I completely agree. Just trying to understand why the BBC didn't just commission them chronologically.

happilybemused · 03/11/2019 19:44

Also a complete fan of her writing.

Squigean · 04/11/2019 06:19

Yes, completely agree why it wasn't made out that Lexie had memory problems is a bit of a mystery. Not like we needed anything extra that was puzzling!!

peridito · 04/11/2019 08:44

I'm thinking that Cassie had an identical twin who was killed in the car crash and the trauma of which has erased her memory of.But subconsciously remembers .

Or something .

fishonabicycle · 04/11/2019 11:08

I don't know why so many people are so confused! It's not that tricky. The storyline with Cassie undercover is bloody ridiculous though. And those students are completely unrealistic!

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 04/11/2019 11:22

I'm as confused as everyone else here, but can someone shed light on the wolf/dog rob keeps seeing.

peridito · 04/11/2019 12:08

when Adam was small - before he became Rob - he went into the woods with the 2 others who never came back .
During the search for the 3 of them he was found, hugging a tree,. by a police officer with dog.
Flashbacks show dog barking furiously and Adam terrified .
So assume Rob has nightmares /flashbacks about this time and the dog .

mogtheexcellent · 04/11/2019 12:37

Just caught up with last week's episodes. I'm still confused but still enjoying it. I predict the ending with be a wtaf moment. Just like the end of sanditon.

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 04/11/2019 12:41

Thanks, I seen the flashbacks, but the dog seems to terrify him, and the t-shirt he wore as a boy looks to be shredded by an animal, so I thought perhaps the fear was from being attacked by the dog but as he was uninjured he obviously wasn't. So many things just don't make sense. It's like the series Lost, I'm lost trying to make sense of it. So glad I'm not the only one.

Squigean · 04/11/2019 15:03

fishonabicycle I don't think people are confused about what's been revealed but more as confused about the why.

There's quite a lot of unanswered questions created by the plot many which you might have a theory on, but these haven't been confirmed yet

Why does Rob keep having spasms/dislocating his shoulder?
What's the wolf doing?
How has Cassie's imaginary friend become a real life person?
What happened to Peter and Jamie?
How the hell hasn't anyone recognised Adam yet? - they all know he went to England
Why are the students so odd and pretending to be in an Agatha Christie novel type life?
Do they have something to do with Lexi’s murder?
What's the significance of Rosalind not wearing a bra?
Why did the ballet woman say Margaret want sick?
Who was the man in the blue tracksuit?
Many more!!

Also the sheer daftness of the Lexie undercover part doesn't help.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/11/2019 17:41

Let’s hope tonight and tomorrow resolve this

Will we find out if 1985 children are dead or diff people - students ?

Or least see what happened to them

And who killed KATY

And why the dead Lexie pretended to be Lexie who didn’t exist
And created by policelady

OP posts:
Bellasblankexpression · 04/11/2019 21:53

Anyone watching this tonight?

ImTheCaddy · 04/11/2019 21:58

I'm lost.

mogtheexcellent · 04/11/2019 22:03

I'm not that lost. I'm hoping we find out who Lexi really was. Rob has a lot of pent up anger. Understandable really.

Rollergirl11 · 04/11/2019 22:04

Right, so the doppelgänger of a police officer randomly meets someone on a bus who mistakes her for the undercover police officer he met once, and then she adopts, as a fake identity, the fake identity of the police officer she looked exactly like.

Fuck OFF

Dulra · 04/11/2019 22:05

So they've pretty much tied up lexie and Katie's murders so I'm hoping the last episode will focus on the missing kids and what happened to Adam in the woods.

Thought it was awful that he beat the crap out f Shane he seemed such a troubled soul

Rollergirl11 · 04/11/2019 22:08

And what exactly was the purpose of the undercover operation using Lexi anyway? They caught a sociopath who collects a bunch of misfits? So fucking what! Excellent use of police resources, that. 😡🙄

OnlyTheTitOfTheIceberg · 04/11/2019 22:15

They caught a sociopath who collects a bunch of misfits? So fucking what!

They caught “Lexie”’s murderer too.

Sotiredofthislife · 04/11/2019 22:51

For a second there, with Rob’s anger, it occurred to me that he had killed the others? Kind of a double bluff for the viewer? Whole thing so traumatic he’s blanked it out? I don’t get why there would be blood in his shoes. The cuts on the T-shirt could have been one of his victims lashing out?

longtompot · 04/11/2019 22:56

I'm confused about the bus scene where Cassie met the guy who killed Lexi, but she was pretending to be Lexi on the bus. But she had the circle tattoo Confused

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 04/11/2019 22:59

So even more questions and little answers. I feel this is going to be like the Game of thrones ending, 1 episode left, so much to wrap up in that episode. It's looking to be viewers will be left with unanswered questions. All I want to know is what happened in those ruddy woods.
