Anyone watch the start of series 2 tonight? It's in Wednesdays at 8pm on BBC2, so will be available on iplayer.

I thought this whole concept sounded awful and cheesy when I first heard of it, but I loved s1.

I'm glad they've kept the two architects the same.

Also, that glassed rainforest area in the terrace I feel would be difficult to maintain and could end up looking a bit shit quite quickly. Plus a bit of a waste of space.

I think that the woman designer actually understand how families live in houses whereas the man just knobs about on his island with his shoes off.

Grin This made me laugh, but actually he has a young family from the looks of it. Be interested to know what his house looks like.

I’m watching tonight.
Are they seriously complaining that the house is too small for a family of three?

PancakeAndKeith · 23/10/2019 20:16

At no point have the couple mentioned anything for the child.

Halsall · 23/10/2019 20:19

Erm.......planning permission, anyone? The presenter is right. The neighbours would go ape.

Crawley65 · 23/10/2019 20:19

Imagine living next door to his idea!

PancakeAndKeith · 23/10/2019 20:19

What about planning?
No way would the neighbours allow that.

Crawley65 · 23/10/2019 20:20

They’d be relaxing in their retreat while the neighbours fume

Halsall · 23/10/2019 20:20

And he's managed to work in modified bench seating in the form of yoga/tatami mats

PancakeAndKeith · 23/10/2019 20:22

A faraday cage to get rid of the electrical bullshitery.

Halsall · 23/10/2019 20:24

I missed what their budget was.....?

MoobaaMoobaa · 23/10/2019 20:24

don't you need planning for a 'living area' platform above a certain hight so close to neighbours?

I'm sure you do, a neighbour of a friend put steps up the side of their garage and roped the top off to make a terrace area. I think they had to take it down....

PancakeAndKeith · 23/10/2019 20:24

40k.

Halsall · 23/10/2019 20:25

Thanks Pancake Smile

PancakeAndKeith · 23/10/2019 20:26

Robert can believe anything he fucking wants, I’d still be fuming if I was his neighbour.

MoobaaMoobaa · 23/10/2019 20:28

imposed relaxation Grin bollocks

Halsall · 23/10/2019 20:29

I can't quite believe anyone ever chose his designs tbh. He seems to be getting more and more extreme.

PancakeAndKeith · 23/10/2019 20:36

I do want them to go for his design just for the utter shit show.

Too small for their hobbies more like.

No shit that they went for Laura’s design!

Halsall · 23/10/2019 20:47

I wish they'd stop going on about her 'lady lair' Hmm

Tidypidy · 23/10/2019 20:49

DH and I loved the unintentional innuendo where she's talking about her lady lair and how the neighbours might not like to look at it!

Karabair · 23/10/2019 20:54

Wow, that guy got a lot of space, whilst his wife was sort of tacked on the end. She doesn't look impressed by him. I wonder if she's on Mumsnet.

Karabair · 23/10/2019 20:55

What a prick playing the drums in a built up neighbourhood.
