Love his hair!

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 13/12/2019 18:59

More importantly though I've been gifted with some new adverts Grin Not all new, mind but enough its noticeable. Thank god for that.

maidenover · 13/12/2019 19:02

I’m only at the beginning of season 2, I’d forgotten that Doug Ross was such a knob.

Despite having gone through the whole show at least twice I’m slightly put out by the spoilers on this thread 😂

maidenover · 13/12/2019 19:03

@AllYouGoodGoodPeople I keep humming the dominoes pizza ad music 🙉

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 13/12/2019 19:52

maidenover ...can't get through to you, I can't get through to you....

I'm.struggling to get past the image of the guy who plays dubenko lying on the floor in his pants...its ruined him in er Blush

It was a really weird movie.

Hes turned into an ass too. Treating neela like crap.

Far cry from the solution is lucian protest

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 15/12/2019 08:47

I personally feel that by series 14 they'd lost the plot rather. That episode where the two teams of surgeons are playing ice-hockey - WTF?

I also find it unbelievable that so many of the main characters have had romantic relationships or flings with each other and yet they all get on swimmingly. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of the rivalry, jealously (well except for Ray and Gates) or lingering resentment/dislike that you might expect.

Episode with the ex-prison doctor seeking redemption was a powerful one though. Up there with the Ray Liotta one with Pratt.

Ontheboardwalk · 15/12/2019 21:29

Ok so I when I watched it first time I thought the Dr in the puddle was Benton. It was only rewatching last year I realised it was Greene walking out to Carter

Just rewatched the letter and lost it with Carter walking out to Gallant.

Damn this is a fine tv show

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 27/12/2019 11:26

I've now finished all 15 series and did enjoy the latter ones for seeing them for the first time.

I liked the way some of the 'patients' recurred to complete their stories.

Also loved the circularity of the last few episodes featuring so many of the early series lead characters.

Wasn't that keen on the lead nurse being the only one to get proper story-lines. Or that the romance pool was generally so contained within the ER and that all personnel seemed to be able to rub along with their exes so easily.

Graphista · 29/12/2019 02:36

On my 3rd go around - anyone know how long it'll be on all4?

Currently on the episode with carol Hathaway and Ewan mcgregor and stunned to realise Ewan mcgregor's cousin is being played by none other than currie graham!

May not be a name you recognise as he's not particularly known for major roles but he's this amazing Canadian I guess you would say character actor that's in loads of stuff but usually one episode jobs but sometimes slightly longer story arcs as a subsidiary character.

House fans will know him as House's ex's husband that had paralysis.

I hadn't noticed it was him first couple of viewings as he looks very different to usual with facial hair plus a hat and his face he is tending to obscure and he has longer hair than usual and sideburns but a certain scene I glimpsed and it was familiar so good ol' IMDb and I'm like Shockomg!

I think he's hugely underrated myself and I'm not sure why he doesn't get lead roles.

He had a good humorous role as a fearless cocky billionaire in the mentalist who briefly dated Theresa too

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 29/12/2019 09:12

@Graphista it sounds as if his time will come, hopefully. Maybe he's not interested in becoming a main player though?

BrotherlyLove · 29/12/2019 09:16

New to ER ,loving it.
Just done the Romano helicopter blade episode.
I know he's a shit, but I have to admit he's one of my favourite characters.

Ihatesundays · 29/12/2019 09:21

I’m on series 6. Still gutted about Lucy.

I’m actually finding Luka annoying this time round and weirdly I have more respect for Romano. He’s not as dislikeable as I remember

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 29/12/2019 09:37

@Ihatesundays, I get where you're coming from totally. Many of my first time around favourites, I'm really not feeling the same love for the second time around at all.

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 29/12/2019 10:14

Luka was soooooo annoying - desperate to rescue Sam and Abby, or pointlessly shag anyone else.

And Kerry was soooooo two faced and ready to throw anyone under the bus who got in her way.

At least Romano was straight forward!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 30/12/2019 13:45

I always got the feeling that Luka was trying to make up for not having been able to rescue his wife and children? It never seemed to me that he'd fully got over their deaths.

kateandme · 31/12/2019 06:33

just watched the one with DR gant. i forgot about that ending.major oh shit moment and still made me emotional.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/12/2019 10:00

Yes, @kateandme, that has to be one of the most emotive episodes ever. As I said somewhere previously, the whole Dr Gant storyline didn't entirely show Carter at his best.

BrotherlyLove · 31/12/2019 13:08

Finding the Abbey dominated storylines a bit much, she's so irritating.
When do things get better?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/12/2019 13:13

When Abby and Luka leave?

BrotherlyLove · 31/12/2019 13:31

What season is that then?

dancemom · 31/12/2019 13:53

I never actually watched ER the first time round, currently on S2 E10

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 31/12/2019 14:06

Season 15.

To be fair, I didn't really 'enjoy' ER once the original characters had left but second time around I'm having a change of heart. They are all quite tortured one way or another, but I guess that reflects the reality of many working in the caring professions.

BrotherlyLove · 31/12/2019 15:08

Season 15 Grin
Oh dear!

kateandme · 01/01/2020 07:05

NewModelArmyMayhem18 deff went on a life journey throughout his er portrayal that's for sure.
