I’ve just watched “Love’s Labours Lost” from season one, when Mark loses the mum with eclampsia. I found it very affecting, especially as I had pre-eclampsia and had to have a forceps delivery - but luckily for me, everything went right instead of going wrong.

Mrmojorising71 · 14/10/2019 01:08

I love ER, cried when it ended, a friend of mine studied medicine in America and claims ER and Scrubs are the closest represention of the American health care system, it'd make you think really...

Verily1 · 14/10/2019 09:42

It was realistic at the start st least because Michael Crichton was a ER resident himself- he wanted to do a series based on his experiences and show up what American health care was really like. It was political. He got the go ahead by doing a deal with Steven Spielberg that if he sold him the rights to Jurassic Park then Spielberg would ensure ER was made.

The ambush live s4ep1 episode was groundbreaking tv.

BertieDrapper · 17/10/2019 14:16

Arh the adverts are annoying!! Even more annoying you can't skip them!!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 23/10/2019 12:16

Am I right in thinking they've released series 1-6 so far and that series 7 will be coming out on Friday?

How is everyone finding it?

I realise that there are episodes I've got no recollection of at all, probably coinciding with when I was out and about socialising.

I always felt the episode where Hathaway goes to find Ross was a bit of a cop-out. Remember that expectations were riding high, but it didn't entirely live up to all the hype. Can anyone remember how/why Hathaway reappeared in the very last series?

Have to say that I rather lost interest rather in series 9 or 10. After Abbie had broken up with Carter (and he'd gone off to the Democratic Republic of Congo with Benton, was it?).

WaningGibbous · 04/11/2019 18:45

I'm half way through series 8 now. I had completely forgotten Susan came back. I presume there's some gossip as to why the actors playing Chen and Malucci left?

BertieDrapper · 04/11/2019 19:22

I'm partway through series 6.... just past the stabbing episodes. I'd assumed they were a series finale, was surprised they were partway through a series.

I feel like I watched all these recently as I remember them Quite a bit clearer then I thought I would. I think maybe from next season I won't be so familiar with them as can barely remember he story lines for Prat, and Michael etc...

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 04/11/2019 19:37

Yes, I'd forgotten she came back too - quite matronly on her return. She certainly wasn't right with Carter, was she?

I think I rather lost interest (plus bogged down with young DC) by the time it got to the arrival of Pratt and Gallant, so not sure I slavishly followed it thereafter. I recall shedding tears in the episode when Mark dies but once he had gone - as well as Benton - it just didn't seem the same. I do remember rooting for Kovac and Abby to get together but had a long wait for it to happen. Didn't he have a relationship with Linda Cardinelli's character before finally going off into the sunset with Abby?

Sotiredofthislife · 04/11/2019 22:42

It’s so good! I loved it back in the day but it really doesn’t feel like it’s ‘old’. Rally, really enjoying it!

Butterfly005 · 04/11/2019 23:25

So glad these are all coming to All4 - I have bought a lot of series on iTunes but a few of the later series I still haven't seen so looking forward to them coming. Originally intended to stop watching at the end of series 8 because one of my favourite characters went (won't say who in case I spoil it for anyone!) but actually have really grown to like a lot of the new characters that came.

Can anyone remember how/why Hathaway reappeared in the very last series?
Yes her and Doug appear in an episode at a hospital in Seattle cos two of the characters from county needed to go there to get some donor organs.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 05/11/2019 17:59

Oh, thanks for letting me know how/why Hathaway and Ross reappear in the last series.

Does'n't Mark's daughter, Rachel, turn up as a medical school near the end of the last series too?

Butterfly005 · 07/11/2019 13:30

Yep she is in the last episode as a med student looking round the hospital - I think Carter takes her under his wing!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 08/11/2019 11:17

Looking forward to watching series 9 from today.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 11/11/2019 13:42

I had totally forgotten that Luka went off the rails too.

I think series 9 is the point at which I stopped watching ER as avidly, as I have no recollection of some of the happenings, including Romano's accident or Don Cheadle's brief appearance as the medical student with Parkinson's - a pity he wasn't in it for longer as I really liked his character. I do recall being super frustrated by Abby and Carter's doomed romance though.

Ontheboardwalk · 24/11/2019 21:24

Ah all4 is so buggy. Makes it really annoying to watch

It keeps failing to load the next bit of the episode, plays load of adverts then skips to the next episode. When I go back to the episode I was watching I then have to watch loads more adverts. I’d pay for an option with no adverts

Oh and they also need to remove the shouty curry’s pc world advert

AllYouGoodGoodPeople · 24/11/2019 21:53

The adverts are driving me up the wall as well as its inability to remember which episode I'm on. I'd forgotten this half of S11 completely but I did watch it at the time.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/11/2019 14:12

I agree about the adverts - they're very limited in number too, so not even much variety to entertain.

I don't remember much of this series at all TBQH.

BertieDrapper · 28/11/2019 20:36

It's not just the curry's advert but pandora and one other one! Sooo loud!!!

I'm on season 8... I cried at Peter leaving!
I remember less of what happened in the newer seasons but I remember the Bosnia ones! Didn't like them the first time round.

mrsfeatherbottom · 29/11/2019 21:42

I am LOVING this! Currently a few episodes in to series 2. As others have said, loving seeing the now-famous actors like Bradley Whitford and true about the AIDS storylines - you forget how big a deal it was.

I forgot how much I loved it - loving it just as much second time round. And still don't understand what Jeannie ever saw in Benton!

Graphista · 29/11/2019 23:05

I've just had a look on my All4 app and it seems to only go up to season 12? I thought they were all on there anyone got any info on this?

scrappydappydoo · 29/11/2019 23:15

There releasing a new series every week - check in next week and series 13 should have turned up. I’m halfway through series 6 - almost at the stabbing....

Graphista · 29/11/2019 23:17

That's definitely how they're doing it? I was worried there! I'm halfway through season 7

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 30/11/2019 08:56

Series 12 only became available yesterday (Friday), so season 13 will be up next Friday. I have hardly seen any of these more recent episodes, so interesting to watch. No memory of Clemente at all or Eve. I clearly lost interest rather when Carter left.

Graphista · 02/12/2019 00:02

Just watched "Orion in the sky" marks last shift and I'm in bits! God help me with his actual death!

ItsNovemberNotChristmas · 02/12/2019 13:18

Bosnia episodes??

Did not like Abby, both Luca and Carter were miserable with her and she expected Carter to get with her as soon as she split from Luca. Glad he didn't at first, although the pairing with Susan wasn't right
